What did you do in the garden today?

USAF kid is home, so we asked what color they wanted room painted (here for 1-2 years while in school). They picked Sherwin Williams “Argyle” , and the color 2 shades lighter. It green. Very green. But, a tolerable green if one had to have it on the walls.

we also like SW paint - they have a particular paint that is the best on shelves, it’s a latex enamel.
That's bordering on John Deere Green. LOL.

We're heading for 7 days of humid 90. I'll finish my coffee and I guess I'll spray up and go mow. I don't want to. I am so unmotivated to do anything.

I'm sleeping with one ear open, like you do with a baby in the house, listening to hear if the dog needs out in the middle of the night. Crazy.

I have plans to sew some historic costuming, but I need to finish creating a custom dress form for fittings, since I'm on my own out here, fittings on myself are almost impossible.

But for that, I'm waiting on custom fabric, which should be here sometime this week/next week.

And I also have a quilt design banging around in my head, but I want to make a trip to the good shop over an hour away, so I need to plan that trip out to make sure someone is here for Princess Limps-A-Lot.

Trying to sell the final 10 flats of tomatoes for $40 on Craigslist. No takers yet.

Lowering the price today.

Etsy shop is now gone. I feel freed, and yet totally bummed about it.

Ever see a dog climb a tree to chase a squirrel? I shouldn't be surprised. She's climbed into our old coop before via the chicken ladder.:lau

I'm trying sooo hard not to complain that he put a shovel full of dirt on my new lavender plant, is using my squash plant to hold his duct tape & extra pex line & smooshed a couple dill plants leaning on them. Trying. Very. Hard. He's like a bull in a china shop.

Anyone have problems with the first flush of female flowers opening before the males? It bugs me it feels like a waste.
Sometimes mine do that. I have been planting early crookneck squash so it can pollinate the later varieties if they happen to bloom female first. I saw flowers on the watermelon over the weekend - yep all female :(

Mine straight up is a bull in a china shop. Something in the floor? Shoves it out of the way hard enough to nearly break it, regardless of what it is. Has broken a number of toddler toys already. It is beyond me, I have no idea, no comprehension, of how someone can not look where they are stepping.

I'm kinda interested to see how the whole gardening thing goes over. Will be watch where he's going when it's something delicate that he also has an interest in? We shall see.

Clearly has not yet stepped on a regular Lego brick in bare feet yet.
Not since he was a kid, lol.

Ordered some okra, sweet corn, couple of pepper varieties, and cherry tomatoes this morning. They've already shipped! Love how fast baker creek works.

Stopped by TSC this morning too, needed a boot scraper. Some random older gentleman started chatting away about chickens with me as I was loading the toddler back in the car. Lol. I missed that small town friendliness. Colorado...I don't know. The part we were in people just seemed to be so angry all the darn time. They never stop to chat about chickens or weather with a complete stranger. Happy to give you a different kind of bird on the highway though.
