What did you do in the garden today?

My favorite tomato for canning or eating fresh is Amish Paste. They are indeterminate, so they'll keep going until frost.

This is an Amish Paste I grew. I saved the seed from this, and another one as big for my planting seed. It was one of the first ones ripe, too.
They look and sound great! I've never seen them around here. Will have to look, come spring

You all have fancy tomatoes, lol. I just plant "Champion" and "Super Fantastic" with a (1) husky or super sweet 100 cherry tomato.
I use tomato fertilizer from Gurney's but I also plant every tomato with an unbroken egg.
I also throw some egg shells and lime in my growing area for tomatoes.
Why the unbroken egg?

So how many seeds are too many??

How many seed orders are too many?

I’m asking in the wrong forum, aren’t I? You will enable me, I just know it.

Orders in with 3 companies, plus the fruit tree order. Thinking off placing two more orders with two more seed companies. :lau
Yup, we’ll just enable. I’m pretty sure we’re in the same boat. Three separate seed companies plus a fruit tree, and some shrubs from another place.

My favorites so far have been San Marzano for paste, black cherry or sweet 100 for cherry, and Firecracker (determinant) or Early Girl for slicing. That said, I make sauce out of all of them and salsa with most of them.

And @Acre4Me, /pat pat, we're here for you, you can never have too many seed orders, some might get lost in the mail and then you'd be short of seeds.

@Elyrian1, that is a beautiful cutting board!
You’re terrible! :gig

Good afternoon all. The sun is out, there’s a light breeze and I’m off work. It’s still a bit chilly so long pants and tshirt, maybe a sweatshirt also to start. Headed out to work on the bunny yard. I’ll need the wee child to drag the tunnel tube round the back of the coop when he gets home. Have a great afternoon!

Got a little shredded paper mulch on the some of the onion plants. Not enough to cover the whole bed though. I like to use it as a first layer as the pieces are relatively small and the plants are relatively close together and still kinda small. The paper fits in between pretty good. Will have another batch soon. When the plants are larger I will start using leaves as a nulch. Picked up a few bags in the past few days. Trees still droppin 'em here.
On another note, Asparagus bed had already gone down for the winter or so I thought.
Fronds had dried out and I had crushed 'em down and covered the bed with leaves. Normal operation here. Saw new shoota, spindly little things, coming up outta the mulch. So much for Texas weather.
Got all trace of Christmas gone. Tree down and lights off the house and packed away until next year. Have a good evening!
