What did you do in the garden today?

Here is tonight’s excitement at my house. Apparently a wild bird got inside at some point. I guess he wanted to get the update on the whole avian flu thing. 🤷‍♀️
We were trying to shoo it outside through an open sliding glass door. No luck. Now it’s trapped in our bathroom to keep the cat from catching it.
We have the bathroom window open but I’m guessing it won’t go out until it’s daylight.

BUTCHER BIRD!

On a happier note: I finally found a local food pantry that accepts donations of backyard chicken eggs. The girls are producing 4 dozen plus eggs per week. Even with selling 4 or 5 dozen per month and giving them to DD, I still have a lot of eggs. They also accept homegrown produce. This makes me very happy.
Tried to give away oranges last year from my trees before the freeze hit. The local (religiously oriented) food pantry will not accept homegrown food donations. "May become a liability" was their excuse. Gave away some to friends and family but still lost at least a couple hundred # of citrus.

Today??? turned over the garden again. Looks like I got most of the cover crop last week. Hopin that I got the rest of it today. Need some rain though. This past month has been DRY. Tilling more than about 8" deep felt like I was tillin bricks. Whats still growin is doin good though. Onions and garlic should start bulbing soon. Brussel sprouts still producing, carrots are about 4" long now. Only thing not doin good is the aweet peas. They haven't done much all winter. Got enough for 3 meals of stir fry veggies. Oh well, some ya win, some ya lose.

In the garage?
It's not really a garage, it's a full on fabrication shop with lathes, milling machines, welding equipment...& his current Corvette engine swap in progress. Gutters full of dirt would not go over well in there. :gig

Honestly, they aren't worth putting the money or the effort in. I'll try a glass of water & a hoop house till it's warmer. :idunno

Never heard of a butcher bird!
