We moved into our house, Christmas of '20. In preparation for getting chooks, I planted:
Rosemary,
two types each of sage, mint, oregano, and thyme
lemon balm,
yarrow,
lavender,
comfrey,
dill,
fennel,
three Martha Gonzales rose cuttings, (dragged this rose through three moves now.)
and sweet woodruff. (which I'll have to move--holy cow that stuff spreads!)
We have dandelions everywhere, and some interesting forest weeds--tons of yarrow.
Our water is expensive (community well), so the only real splurges are the iris gardens and a Lady Banks rose. Oh, and a jackmanii clematis. And grape hyacinth. And red salvia. Oh, and Hollyhocks. And Virginia Creeper on the back fence. And...if I can swing it, a forsythia. (Some people have chicken math, I have plant math.)
I'm glad I planted the herb garden last year, because this year it'll get going quick. We always said;"First year, it sleeps. Second year, it creeps. Third year, it leaps!" We're between a creep and a leap.
