What did you do in the garden today?

Local meteorologists have been screaming doom porn since last week about the weather today and tomorrow. They were originally calling for 4-6" of rain, flash flooding, etc. Yesterday they "dialed it back" to 3-5". It was supposed to start around 7 AM this morning. It's now 6:30 pm and we've not seen a drop all day.... 😑

Wow...idk how it can be wrong so much...or does it really just change that fast!?

No but I did see a YT video other day where you can wrap a comfrey leaf around the base of squash plants and it keeps some critter (cant remember which one) from boring into the plant!
Vine borer. I have used foil, panty hose, flower tape. They are BRUTAL by me, and I now cover my squash and zucchini until the female flowers come out. If I don’t they are all dead in a few days.

Has anyone ever had vine borers attack their pickling cucumbers? These are the only curcubits I have growing where a VB can get to them...

I don’t think they usually go for cucumbers…but if it’s the only thing available? Like last year when I covered my brassicas so the cabbage moth (green caterpillars) couldn’t get to them they went for the nasturtiums of all things!

I’ve had lots of both squash and cukes. SVB havr only gone for squash even if cukes are uncovered.

Cucumber beetles, on the other hand…🙄

Ok stupid question for today...
I seeded my okra, zucchini, and cilantro in seed trays so I can let em grow til I figure out where I'm gonna put em lol.
Since it is so hot now i sat it on the deck for the sun to heat it up.
Now do I put the dome over it like ya would inside seeding or not necessary?
I haven't had luck with the chamomile I seeded outdoors, nor the coleus...so thought I'd better ask cuz that the only thing I did differently.
