What did you do in the garden today?

You JUST turned on the ac? LOL, mines been on full time for weeks, probably more like months. :gig
I have noisy window AC units. I prefer to turn them off at night but I’ve had to keep them on all night. I turn them off in the morning and air the house out before closing it up again. I don’t run all 3 at the same time but alternate the bedroom and living room units to cut down on the cost of the extra electricity.

Hello everyone! I got up early today and finally got my tomatoes tied up (again). Some of them are 6ft high already! I have a bunch ripening on the counter. Blight is hitting the bottom branches, but if it gets bad I’ll pick what I have and let them ripen on the counter. My biggest cucumber is still only about 2 inches long…c’mon buddy please grow so I can stop going to the farmstand to get them! Lol. Picked 5 pole beans today, super excited as it means bean season is starting! We will probably eat them every other night. My potatoes branches in the bags are almost completely brown and wilted, so this weekend I’ll open them and dump them to see what I ended up with. Ended up joining a fall CSA to help with storage crops since I didn’t grow many here (just 1 butternut squash plant, not enough onions for winter and 4 potato bags), so I can add a bunch of veggies to store for the winter. Decided to wait on transplanting kale until the end of next week since it is so darn hot.

Half of the harvest from greenhouse today - another half just like this went to my neighbor who helped plant everything in there. Poloma eggplant, shashito peppers, early jalapeño and a tawny port hybrid bell (green - I didn't let it ripen - testing to see how it is).

Ran the string trimmer in the garden area so I could walk to the planting areas. Also in areas where the rider doesn't get, DD2 mowed ... finished just before the T-storm came through. Harvested about a cup of red currants. The champagne and blacks don't seem to be ready yet. Was going to pick gooseberries as well but it appears the birds are picking them off as they get ripe, not much left.

Watered this morning. Grinned like an idiot at my single asparagus frond poking up through the hay.

We have two ACs on the roof. I turn the second on about 10-12 in the morning depending on how hot the day is, and we turn it off at night when we put DS to bed so he doesn't freeze. The second AC doesn't actually blow into a vent system, just blows where it is in his room.

They finally took most of the triple digits out of the forecast, but I don't think 97-99 is really all that much better. Blegh.

I'll just say, I sleep with the bedroom window wide open in the winter. My ac does not go low enough for me at 60 to sleep. :gig On the other end, we sure save in heat! In the summer the ac is on at 73. In the winter the heat is on at 62 (but completely off in the bedroom).

I let the birds eat all the blueberries this year. Just didn't have it in me to cover them. They're so small anyway (the bushes), I wouldn't have collected but a couple cups anyway. :idunno
