What did you do in the garden today?

Wow @Sueby your Morning Glory looks amazing! Last year I threw a bunch of seeds along my back fence line in hopes that it would grow since everyone tells me it is invasive. Not one single vine came up. 🙁
I leave the vines till spring & pull the seeds then, I believe they need to go through stratification to be viable, but I'm not sure. They do come up pretty late here too, it needs to be warmer so maybe you planted them a bit too early?

Cucumbers have officially come in! I picked 3 off of my 7 vines today. 😊 Three female squash flowers are open, zucchini madness hasn’t started yet. Pulled my onions, got about 40 medium (a few were big, but mostly medium).

Question about canning sauce. I have always bought a box of tomatoes from the farm stand to process. I have 12 paste plants this year, and definitely have enough green ones once they turn red to make 6-8 quarts of sauce if not more. However, I’ve picked a bunch already. Is there a way to slice & save them, and once the rest turn red make my sauce then to process? It’s a shame they don’t all ripen at the same time. Lol
Same boat as u on tomatoes!

So tomato question...I've never grown determinate before, do they just grow to a certain height, throw out flowers & then fruit & then stop? I think my mystery plant may be determinate because it hasn't grown at all in the last couple weeks, not even an inch. It has tons of fruit, but no new flowers either.

I FINALLY got all my tomatoes trellised, and got them all pruned while I was at it. I need to take update pictures/videos. A mole made my trellis supports structurally unsound, so I had to tie them to fence posts. I now have to remember to duck when entering the garden, and I got him in a snap trap. He was a hefty boy!

The pumpkins are getting big, and are still trying to take over the whole garden. My three sisters bed is a mess... the butternut squash plants apparently, have grown all the way to the other side of the bed, and I don't know if the beans will end up producing. Some of the corn has silks and pollen things, so I'm excited to get a few ears! I saw a bunch of baby cucumbers yesterday, and I think I did a happy dance. On my final walk past last night, I noticed that I might get to harvest 3 or more squashes today!

This tomato came off when I barely pulled it, so I ate it. First of the season! I have no idea what kind it is because I think I saved the seeds from some store bought tomatoes. Lots of flesh, and not many seeds (or flavor, really). All of my tomato plants are going gangbusters! I took a video of all the tomatoes on my 36 plants to send to my sister, and it was 3 minutes long.

I pulled up 3 carrots just to see how they're doing, and they are bigger than I was expecting! They were yummy!

I also harvested some thyme, basil, oregano, and chives for pasta sauce for dinner last night. It was YUMMY! This is by far my most productive garden, and I am excited to have an even bigger garden next year!

Ive never done onions but my ewo’s are doing great. My only thing is, i dont know how to use them for eating. I also dont know how to share them.
@TJAnonymous - you dont really have anything to lose by trying them out.

I finally got my last set of slips planted among the tomatoes and some in a container. Here goes nothing :fl

I got Delaware Purple, 8633, and, i dont remember, something jewel. I blocked my passages by mopping and moving the dog crate so i cant check. 🤣

Allergies are killing me today... Likely a consequence of the rain. Nearly all of the good rain is missing us... 🤬 It's passing through about 2-3 miles north of me. I'm getting a few sprinkles but not much. Dang it!

I haven't been out to the garden in days. I know the tomatoes need tied up big time.

I also need to get moving on the cukes before they go bad.... Just no motivation right now.

I cut the end off and put them into a Ziploc into the freezer. I keep doing this until I have enough, or I feel like canning. The bonus is that the skins will normally just fall off if you don't want them, it's an added plus.
