What did you do in the garden today?

I had DH pull out a giant rubberband that I used years ago for a torn rotator cuff. I'm using it to do gentle stretches by looping it around the ball of my foot, pull, and hold for 10 seconds or so... It still hurts but a lot less than the boot being on.
I was in and out of a med boot for most of a year and it damaged my ankle on top of my broken midfoot... you're smart to avoid pain pills and listen to your body. Those gentle stretches should help a lot. Hope your back on your feet soon.

Raiiiiiin! :wee

Was looking at my avocado I sprouted from a store bought Mexican fruit. It's on the east side of my house, tucked under an overhang so it's only getting the first sun of the day. And it's still scorching!
Think I'm going to have to break down and buy one that's rated for AZ. Was hoping the Mexican varieties would be able to handle the heat but it's not looking promising.

That's it way at the bottom of the picture. Maximum shade all day but very early morning. If it's scorching there...does that mean it's not likely to handle our heat or do you guys think it might handle it better as it grows? Was thinking of planting it just under the northeast edge of a huge mesquites canaopy but not sure now.

I'm so sorry! Did they offer you one of those things you can rest your knee on with wheel on it? I never would have made it without that thing after foot surgery.
No, but other than saying "wear the boot for 3 weeks," they didn't really give me any preparation for what to expect or what I might need after the injections. Maybe because it wasn't surgery they neglected to think about that? The doctor did say that they rarely do the injections because they are not covered by insurance and expensive.

I figured it would be swollen and sore for a day. I didn't quite expect to be on crutches for days... I'm glad I even HAD crutches at home already. They didn't even tell me to get any or that I would need them.

I feel like the rubber band is helping. I still can't put the boot on yet but I am able to put my foot flat on the ground now if I'm sitting in a chair. I can also stand up as long as I don't put my full weight on it. This gives me some hope that I'll have some mobility by tomorrow with only a cane? At least without the crutches, anyway...

All I did today was a quick harvest. Had work to do at the farm so I was there until 4 (& boy, was it hot!)

Happy to say I picked the first arugula of the year! I always plant it after garlic harvest, along with kale & collards. Arugula salads tonight! We are eating 3 veggie dishes each night along with our meat, I love this time of year.

So sorry for those of you battling pain. It sucks. I had my emergency c-section and they gave me pain meds after which made me literally crazy. After the first one wore off, I just went with Tylenol. Way too many side affects on top of post-partum, I did the best I could without and DH was so helpful. Agree though, if someone is terminal, give them whatever they ask for. Nobody should have to deal with that at the end of their life, just looking for peace…

Yikes! That's a serious injection for sure. I hope you recover quickly!

My daughter got me a pair of Crocs to wear out front when I’m working to replace the flip flops her man sized teenager literally busted out of taking out the trash. Anyway, she got these things to put on them :gig (Not my photo)
