What did you do in the garden today?

Looks like I'll get to make something with Rhubarb after all. Although I wasn't planning on harvesting any this year - since it was planted this year, Mother Nature had other plans. She gave us rain and wind yesterday, and it broke off nearly all stems of the "Kanga-Rhu" rhubarb. The other 3 varieties look to be undamaged. There are two tiny shoots coming off the root, and still more growing season, so I am hopeful that it will re-bound ok.

Off to find some Rhubarb recipes!

Ha, here it is! I now have a tie died pair too, lol. I hate crocs, but I love my crocs. The tie died ones have less holes for sticks to poke thru. :gig I do love hosing them off!

My MIL gave me a pair with no holes in them. I wore them in the garden and around the barn all the time. Now they have disappeared.... And I can't seem to find any new ones. I don't want the ones with holes in them....that just seems silly to me.

Good morning gardeners. Hubs is cutting up the tree. I took some cuttings from the olive tree and the rosemary bush to start in water. Moved the willow starts to individual jars because they keep falling over in the plastic thing. While I was taking cuttings I noticed that the Arabian lilac is blooming. Might look into taking cuttings from that also. If I can get one started it would be a nice replacement for the mesquite out front. It won’t get as big, but that might be a good thing. I was checking out the mesquite that’s out there and it’s a happy little camper. I like the shape of it much more than the one that was blown over and I think two huge trees like that are too much for the yard. Also ran to Walmart earlier for a few things, put in an order on Amazon Fresh for dinner needs and lunches for this week, and rinsed off a plant stand I need to bring back in. I’m going to attach some small grow lights to the underside of the shelves so the stuff down low gets sufficient light. Anyway, need to change the sheets and get the teenager up to help his grandfather. Enjoy your day all!

That rosemary is looking a bit ready for the shelf. I accidentally forgot to water one day and now mine is dried herb.

I can't believe they didn't prepare you for this....that is insane!
They told me they seldom did the injections because that area is so narrow and thin. And if I chose surgery the recovery would be well over a year long...if it even was partial recovery cause of my other health problems complicating things.
I'd call them first thing Monday!
Last night I did a lot of reading about the PRP injections. I feel duly informed now about what to do AFTER the procedure. They say to pretty much stay off your feet and limit movement for 24 to 48 hours but that you will be sore and swollen for 3 - 7 days. They say to expect to use crutches for several days until you can walk without discomfort. Would have been nice to know all of this beforehand...

The orthopedic doctor said that my Achilles is really tight. He never x-rayed it but I'm wondering if there is a bone spur or something compressing the tendon. Even before the injection, it hurt to even lightly brush the skin on the back of my heel. Something touching it, like a shoe, was often excruciating. It typically wouldn't hurt badly in the morning but by mid-afternoon I couldn't walk at all. These injections are supposed to be really helpful for tendon injuries especially those notoriously slow to heal like the Achilles. I did read that it takes 4 - 6 weeks to see the improvement from the injection.

Yall my tomatoes r going caplooey.. looking very tired...hardly anything on em except NEW growth at the top and barely any fruit.
Should I give em few more weeks or top em and call em done for the year?
There's really only one producing like crazy and it is in a container but I think when I transplanted it early in season it just set it back so it is just now catching up and producing.
I'll definitely do a few more in containers and succession plant more next year so that I can spread out the growing season!
