What did you do in the garden today?

Same. At least it has for me the last few years with my work schedule. I needed 3 alarms to be up by 5.30 6 days a week. For some reason any day off would have me awake before my alarms would go. It sucks.
Yup, I can definitely relate. Although I suspect I’ve trained my internal clock because I’ve been getting up early for over 30 years with hubs. Don’t need an alarm anymore.

Am here! Life is insane atm. All is fine, just long hours and short on daylight plus finishing classes for term.
Thanks for checking in, we were starting to wonder! I told @Acre4Me I wished you were on a boat in the south of France, but I assumed you were working really hard. LOL
I’ve been wishing for just such a day. Just one, where I sleep past sunrise.
I wish for that every day, it NEVER happens!
Sabbatical? Like Shabaton? As in a vacation after seven years?
Generally here in the states Sabbatical is for teachers, they take a semester or a few off to study up on something that will help in their job. I'm not positive that's what @TJAnonymous was speaking about tho...

Morning. Had a bit of a freeze last night. Hoping I can pull the dahlias today & get them cleaned up. Also wanting to get the last of the compost out into the garden. Then going to my sisters for duck - she just got home from her honeymoon so we're going to celebrate.

I am always amazed at how much longer you southerners get in your gardens! Make me jealous. Then I realize I want to head north when I retire & that's going to cut down on my garden even more. If I do go I'll have to have a green house.

It happened once this year for me, but only after a few restless nights during a busy week. I don’t think that counts.

Good morning gardeners. It’s chilly out there this morning. My daughter heard a commotion and I went out to find Stella in the big yard with two chicks. Elvis was out there with her and she was clearly upset. I don’t know if she freaked out because he was near the chicks or if the neighbors cat was in my yard. I need to get that game cam up out there I suppose. Anyway, we’re expecting a few daytime highs in the mid 60’s toward the end of the week and only mid 70’s next weekend. Looking forward to that, I think I can safely sow some greens next weekend, maybe some broccoli and cauliflower too. I also have more EWO, might plant those as well, and peas since @Wee Farmer Sarah mentioned them, thanks for the reminder. I told the oldest I’d pay him to help me with garden beds. I need to move blocks and dirt and he’s younger than I am  Have a great day everyone!

Thanks Aaron. It’s not that I have to get up for the animals. My internal clock is set to early. Early to bed, early to rise, early to appointments…lol.
Sounds as if we have similar DNA. My mother used to say that I was transfused with chicken blood. To bed at dusk and up at dawn. Our daughter is the same way. Son and the Princess can stay up until early AM and then sleep until noon. :idunno

There's nothing wrong with being early. It's called being punctual, and making sure YOUR obligations are met properly. Nobody appreciates the one who is always late. I think older people well, THAT just happens, our bodies decide, we want to get up at 4 am, sit around for an hour and read a book while the coffee we just brewed wakes everyone else up :D

IKR, I can't say how many times Id get up LITERALLY like 20 seconds before the alarms were to go off, and turn them off before they went off! Even on the one day off we'd get, nope, still getting up. Even though you told yourself, nope today is MY day, too bad, your body already gave itself that 'its time to wake up' shot of whatever and you are not going back to the same deep happy sleep you may have crawled out of :(

I live in a pretty warm place and grow almost everything in a green house, that great to keep humidity in and insects out. Insects bring viruses from other farms or from your neighbours.
