If you are going to try to sneak a private little nest somewhere, do NOT blurt out the egg song when the human is standing 10 feet away !! I found where the rest of the eggs are, 7 of them. Scooped them up and the girls will now be locked up for the next 4 or 5 days until they get good and used to laying where they ALWAYS have been and NEED TO BE !!
Especially now that the little ones should be laying themselves starting next week or the following week, the LAST thing I need is them to learn to lay eggs where they are NOT wanted. They need to bust their little chicken cherries right in the egg box where the last 4 generations of chickens have done so !!
not be foraging new frontiers under the tilapia pond!!
years of egg box and now out of the blue, we want to pull this stunt....grumble....

This is what I do also. Makes it so easy.
But DH is working long hours, if he even comes home. I couldn't wait any longer. Need to blow out the water lines tomorrow, I think. My molter put herself on the roost tonight, I didn't have to block nests.
