What did you do in the garden today?

I checked the green house. I had plugged up the visible mouse holes with steel wool and then spray foam on top of that. I also set a trap near the (last remaining) spinach plant.

No new holes, no mouse in the trap. HA!

On this evenings news, the showed the forecast for next week. We could be up to 48 degrees next Thursday. W. T. F. Talk about weather whiplash!

They are really selling this storm locally. We could get 6-10" of snow with 40+ mph winds. And then the lake effect snow comes on Saturday, and who knows how much that might be? We're far enough inland that we won't get as much as 30-45 miles west, but we're out in the middle of nowhere. If the power goes out, it can be out for days at a time.

The generator is on the porch, and so is a couple days' worth of firewood. We're hunkering down for the next few days...

Congratulations on selling the house @chickengr. Wishing you a speedy recovery after your surgery tomorrow @Sueby. I did the last of my shopping and storm prepping today. The stores were all crazy. Even Tractor Supply only had one cashier working and folks lined up with animal feed at the checkout. But all is done. We’re forecasted to get heavy rains and winds until the temperatures drop. Prepared for the worst, hoping for the best. Good luck to all in the worst of the storm.

This is the only garden I have for the next several months.
87 days until spring!

Go to TSC and sign into your Neighbor rewards accound.
Then on the bottom right of the screen you'll see a red wallet. Click that and it will show you your rewards, and coupons.

Then you can see if you have delivery. It has come in STUPID handy for me in the middle of projects like fencing when I run out of something or something breaks and I don't have the hour and and a half for the round trip to the city.

I went to to Lowes to buy Kellog Garden Soil and Peat Moss to make my own potting mix. I was also planning to buy a Brandy Wine tomato plant, but all the plants in their nursery got hit by the heavy rain. I ended up buying another tomato seed packet. I know I said I wouldn't, but It was only 1.78 and I couldn't control myself. It's a heirloom indeterminate beef steak type. I planted only 3 seeds from the packet, hopefully one grows.:wee
