This week we snapped back from the freezing weather, to 35-45 degrees with high winds and pouring down rain. So now we're on flood watch, but so far the river looks OK. Preparing the horse trailer to be a temp chicken coop, just in case.

Were supposed to get rain later in the week. I think ill wait until then to pull up all the now dead stuff and dig the taters out of the ground, let the rain help soften it up for me

That’s what I’m doing too, but it’s mostly weeds that need yanking out.

A hybrid of hickory and pecan. Most if not all were found in the wild. The best were named. Some of the northern pecan have a little hickory in them. Proven with DNA test.

I've never heard of it. I love pecans. I would be very curious what it tastes like!

I hope to find out. I know where a mature tree is at a lake I fish in May but I am never there when they are ripe. The shells on the ground are a long hickory nut.

I tell myself that every time I get another damn seed magazine in the mail.... I haven't been as naughty as some of you but I still ended up with far more tomato seed packets than I intended.
