What did you do in the garden today?

My rototiller was just picked up AGAIN. Hope it comes back fixed this time.

I maniacally sprayed the tar out of a bunch of honey locust saplings that are marching steadily toward my yard.

Paced out a few ideas for the layout of the 14 blueberry bushes I still need to plant.

I've been planning out my chicken coop.
Trying to decide on the cleanest, easiest feeder/waterer setup.
I'll hit some other forum sections for ideas.

I ordered an 8x12 waterproof sunshade for my A-frame swing.

Currently bottling up some water kefir so it gets fizzy.
Sadly heading off to a job in a couple of hours, when there is so much here to do.

Try flat out on your tires. Worked great on a leaky front tractor tire. I got mine off eBay as none availabe local.

I wondered about whether that would work. 😎
I currently have dozens of tire plugs dangling off of each tire.
But I need more. Lost my insertion tool, though.

I HATE pokeweed. It's all over my property. I spend all spring and summer yanking it out when I see it and it always comes back. It's invasive as h3ll. I absolutely hate this plant... As much as I hate greenbriar which is a lot.

For us it's horse nettle, a terrible, toxic, and pokey weed that spreads by seed and rhizomes. That, and now we have wild morning glories popping up everywhere too. I'm trying to stay on top of it but they're intense.

You can try covering everything in black foil for a couple of weeks, if you water it underneath as well, all the evil doers will be gone. Try doing that BEFORE they flower.

If you eventually need a patch or new tire, companies here charge a HUGE surcharge if you use that stuff. Not worth it. I use tire patch, goop, big awl, and off I go.
Side note a starling just tried to invade the sparrow house by my window. I can't stand those things.
Frost coming tonight and until Monday, so will drag all the greenhouse plants into the shop for the night, back out during the day and back in at night, until tuesday.
Will cover the butterfly garden too. Le Sigh.

fertilized the tomatoes, watered everything and sown watermelon of two kinds: Sweet Crimson and Malali. One is mainly for its edible seeds, the other is supposed to be delicious.

I had made my plan about the fig tree. The man who owns the tree is 85+ year old, and as far as I’ve heard, has dementia. My plan is to go there at night, attach my bag of soil on the outer part of his fence, and hope everything will be ok. Or maybe just ask his children instead. 🤔

I read that they grow and fruit so quickly that I might be able to treat it as an annual. However, my winds would take them out unless I built something to hold them up.
I kind of treat my papaya trees like annuals, I have a hard time picking them if the plant gets too tall. I saw a video where they make long cuts around the stem, so the papaya tree can bend to waist level and stake it there. They do this to boost fruiting and stand against typhoon. This is a random video of many on this subject.

Wow! Thank you!
