What did you do in the garden today?

All I did in the garden today was water one of the beds. The tomatoes and squash don't need any right now, but the new beans, lettuce, carrots and cukes could use some because their roots are still shallow.

I also found a few suckers on my indeterminate tomatoes and plucked them off. And I saw some tiny green butternut squash, yet to bloom, on my Butterbush plants. I read that it's a good idea to remove all but a few squash from these bush plants so you get bigger squash. I might give that a try.

Nothing in the garden today but I did snap a big pan of green beans.
DH has shelled out a gallon bucket of butterbeans so I will process these tomorrow.

My neighbor showed me his garden. He's got some GMO potatoes... that are growing some kind of weird tomato grapes on the leaves of his potato plant.

These may be seed pods. I've seen them on my potato plants (non-GMO) before.
Here's a link with photos.

Watered some garden areas. Admired some of the growing produce.

These wAtermelons are the first oblong type of watermelon I’ve grown.

Rat-tail radish. I need to look up options for pickling these seed pods. The seed pods are edible, and taste like radish.

16 pints (6 dilly beans & 10 regular green beans). We'll need several more buckets before I'll be ready to say I'm done. We need to pick again today.
20 pints of green beans today. That finishes up all of the pints I need for this year when added to what I have left from last year. I would like 2-3 canners of quarts yet then I'll call it good. If the beans are still doing well, I'll see if my mom would like them.

Unloaded and stacked 200 bales of hay. I'm pooped, sweaty, dirty, and my arms & legs are on FIRE from the hay touching my skin (I'm allergic).

I feel ya.just once I'd like to be racing snow putting up hay instead of rain, dew, storms, and 100 heat an 82° dewpoints! But then we'd have other problems! Lol

Amen sister... We waited for the sun to go down but the temperature still sucks. And this is with 70% humidity. We did have a couple of fans going but you couldn't feel it unless you were standing directly in front of it. At one point, I was so hot that I thought I was going to puke. Luckily I didn't.
