What did you do in the garden today?

Pretty sure my mom was a hoarder too but yet she always knew where everything was, could find anything. And she would occasionally get rid of stuff/clean up a bit only to bring back five more things from the dump for every one thing she took back :lau

We had 2 1/2 big dumpsters plus all the trips to Savers and the dump and some trash bags when we cleaned out the house and garage. It was bad.

We lost her 2 years ago, April 2021.

Lost my Nana November 2020 which I think contributed to Mom’s decline. Then we lost my grandpa just last May. I think losing his wife and daughter did him in especially since both were pretty sudden and unexpected.

Lost my grandma 2015. Never met my other grandpa.

So I have no grandparents left and down one parent. Have a new step parent now but yeah.

:hugs

I miss my dad, he passed away last September. :(
This September will mark three years since my Dad passed away! It's hard -- I know! Still miss him everyday...though I've finally stopped picking up my phone to call or text him about something I want to tell him (took close to a year before I quite doing that...Pick up the phone "Oh, I guess I can't call him. He's not here anymore...")

Mine had those big black totes with yellow lids full of Christmas knick knacks dozens of them!
Are you sure our mothers aren't related? Last weekend I uncovered 8 big totes, 1 box, 2 tree bags, and 1 big wreath bag of Christmas stuff in her she-shed. 😂 I didn't go through them yet (other than to open the lid and identify what was inside). I plan to do that next weekend with my older kids so we can divvy it up. Christmas in August.

Yep sister found 7 Chirstmas trees, decorations for them for several holidays, keep the tree up and put valentines stuff on it, 4th of july, fall stuff...crazy. China snowmen, and snow globes. Totes full of longenberger baskets. Totes of old sheets and towels and washcloths.
A freezer full of far out of date food.
PILES of cook and bakeware. She'd store stuff in the basement and then not want to walk all the way down there to get it, and then buy new and keep it upstairs. When she got tired of it, or figured she didn't need it anymore, down the stairs it went, and then she'd want it again and either forget she already owned it or didn't want to go down and get it and buy yet another one.
Or she'd see me get something and buy it to match, and use it once or twice and down the stairs it would go.
