What did you do in the garden today?

Pie in the oven. Salt separated about 6 # walnut meat and the bowl with shell bits that separated. The tools I use to get nut meats out after cracking. Broke the red one and ground the black one down thinner. Not so important how you crack them. The key is narrow wire cutters to get larger pieces and salt separation. I will use more walnuts when shell pieces are not a problem.

I bought a new ec/ppm/ph meter and tested 1TBS of Alaskan Bloom mixed with one gallon of water and was shocked to see the low PH (3.26) number and I have been adding 1/8tsp of citric acid powder to this mix before this. My tap water out of the faucet is 7.0 neutral and the citrate acid drops the ph down to 6.0. I am surprised that my plants are still alive.

It's a good thing I did a test this morning, I will make some adjustments to my routine. :barnie

I stacked two galvanized fences together and tied them up with #12 copper wire. I will train 3 Sun Gold Cherry tomato branches to climb up the 8ft cage. However, that all depends on the plant's resistance to the viruses in my yard. I grew them before, but they eventually got stunted by the TYLCV virus. Sun Sugar on the other hand, has resistance to the virus, but I already planted 6 of them, so I don't want anymore. I will give Sun Gold a chance, I'll be happy if I get to taste them.

Just made up 2 Christmas flock blocks for their special treats tomorrow...

Still have to make up the cheesecake tonight. I'm already pooped...

One of our horses passed away on Wednesday night. She was old so it wasn't a huge surprise but still sad. Our other mare (who actually belongs to our trainer) is now all alone because all of our other horses are at training barns. So I feel really bad for her because she's grieving and lonely. I either need to find another companion for her or tell the trainer that she needs to go home to her farm. We have goats but they ignore her and she them so not a sufficient companion for her. It's just breaking my heart seeing her mope by the pasture gate.
