What did you do in the garden today?

How old is he? I know what that 's like, our youngest lived at our place for a long time. Good for you.

Thanks CF!

He's 25 with a 3 year old that was over every other week. This is his second time moving out, only been here about a year.
It took my daughter a while to move back out though, she has two kids and was home for a few years.
So now that everyone is back on track it's kinda nice. Still have my daughters boys about half the time, but she's a dispatcher and works nights so what am I going to do? Can't say no or she will be back home and I thinj my husband would blow a gasket.

I got up about 4:30 am and guess who was awake in his room? I could hear him talking to his gaming buddies on his headset. :duc

I can't hammer or drill this early for fear of the neighborhood's wrath, so I'm chomping at the bit to get out and do some trim work, make my bulk feeder, put up roosts, all that. :barnie So laundry it is.

Garden is coasting in the heat. Got up to 75 F with 85% humidity. Gonna go back and swim through it to plant my last two tomato seedlings for fall and putter around. Quietly. :he

Y'all have a good morning!

Picked up another peach pit from my chicken pasture! Yep, I'll be planting that baby next spring! Maybe sooner if I can get my greenhouse up for the purpose of gardening. Lol - there was talk at the breakfast table of putting up the greenhouse as a temporary shelter for turkey poults to hang out in. Modified, of course. Ah well, if it's used, it's used. And that is much more important than letting it sit in a box another year.

Glanced at my "fall" crops as I walked by my home seed section. :) Already thinking of planting the new crops of salad greens! Gotta wait though...this is August.

Don't you hate being quiet? My Dad worked third trick on the Railroad as a dispatcher. So when i was young we had to be quiet during the day. I am a making noise kind of person.

I am still waiting to harvest lettuce because we moved in June. And i had to prepare soil so i planted late. At least i am eating cherry tomatoes and peas and beans.

More rain on the way, so my celebration is short lived. The henhouse is secure, the girls seemed to like it so far. While being quiet, I played with paint colors. But now I'm on to caulking and getting another tarp over it before tonight. Still schlepping the biddies to and from the run until the pop door is done, but it's a much shorter trip. Yay!:clap

Oh, that brings back memories of my childhood, also. When me and my brothers were young, my dad worked night shift, and I too, remember my mom trying to keep us quiet so my dad could sleep. I'm sure it was no fun for any of us (my mom, dad, or us kids)!

It's looking so good, Wink! I bet your chickens really love it. We need to do some work on our coop/pen combo. The coop needs a new door, and the whole thing could use some fresh paint. Would also like to do a thorough cleaning this fall before winter confinement begins...

Hubs laid some of the bricks out today (the beginnings of our garden area that I posted a photo of a few days ago). I supervised because my knees are pretty hobbled today. We would like to have it ready to go by next spring, so we can plant many of our veggies in it next year. Don't know if we'll make it or not, but should be able to. I was going to check Craigslist for any free (or cheap) fencing. Would love to find some wrought iron fencing like the fence in the pic. If not, maybe some cute wooden fencing or something. I want to use something cute, not just cyclone fence!

Everything is looking pretty dry here, so i guess i am going to have to water the garden. Already did the flowers. Pulled a bunch of weeds in the garden. Trying to build another coop wall, but not getting far. Just worn out.
Guineas enjoying their new tractor. The dog makes them all run into the closed in area. Good training for later when they free range.
Happy gardening, folks!

@igorsMistress Oh yes! I'm living that dream vicariously through you now! HE's son moved back here to our spare bedroom with his wife (HE's DIL) about 4years ago. She moved to her MIL house (HE's ex-wife) 1 1/2 years ago when marital strife struck. Just moved back to her family up north about a week ago. Boy (age28) still holed up in his room here. They say they are not getting divorced, and hang out/go on dates. I'm confused. All I can do is keep my :duc and :fl the boy follows her back up north soon.

I feel your pain! My son moved back in with his daughters mother. :ducIs right, but super happy to get the house organized, and privacy, lots more of that.
