What did you do in the garden today?

I got the last of the manure dug into my beds last week, weather has not cooperated to let me shred leaves and get them on top. Going to be planting those last two beds real late next spring! Usually have a good 6 months for that stuff to rot in there. Maybe working the soil early in spring and laying black plastic over it will speed up the process. Anyone try that, have luck with that?

The dahlia project continues between many other commitments. Even after only one year the root mass is thick on many of them. Cutting them apart is sometimes difficult, and many go into the compost, but still have many left to plant, sell, or share next spring. Just a few more clumps to divide, and pack them up in shavings to sleep until planting time. It's nice to finally have new insulated garage doors, so I can store my bulbs and taters in there.
Also got my onion seeds planted inside.
Any suggestions of what to do with a lot of pumpkins that my neighbor gave me? Most of them are heritage pumpkins, so I don't know if they are edible. Lumpy looking.. Some are the teeny, tiny ones.

Pumpkin pie and chickens like pumpkins. For chickens cut them open. All pumpkins are squash. Try baking and eating some. Pictures? Ask your neighbor about what he does with his. Wildlife like pumpkins. Deer will eat them and squirrels will mostly eat the seeds.

Not sure but might be bobcat again.
