What did you do in the garden today?

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have posted pictures of my Christmas trees from 2019 in a thread titled Show me your Christmas trees. If anyone wants to check it out
I did and that was the tree with the table corner right? You are not having Christmas tree this year?
For me, I have not put up Christmas tree for many years now, too hot, too hot over here.

I have more pictures on the thread. I did 2 trees once. The tree for this year is on a wall shelf that I wrapped with Christmas paper

Had some free time last night so I gathered up all the garden porn mags to go through. I created an Excel tab for each magazine and poured through each one documenting everything I wanted along with item number, description, seed count, and price. Then I went through each tab and noted which items were identical (same variety) and compared pricing.

Rohrer Seeds
Pinetree
Jung Seeds
Baker Creek
Seed Savers Exchange

Note: I usually buy a lot from Johnny's too but didn't compare them because I didn't have a catalog.

I discovered:

1. Pinetree had most of the varieties of stuff I wanted with the cheapest price and higher seed counts. Next was Rohrer Seeds.
2. Seed Saver Exchange and Jung were the most expensive comparatively with the lowest seed count.
3. Adding up everything I want for next year comes to a hefty $350 before tax. Granted HALF of that is slated to Jung because I picked out a bunch of trees... Still, it's obvious that I might have an addiction here... 😂

well I didn't get any photos. i barely even got eggs. Wrapping santa presents while the small human was at his last day of school before break. Now he's off until Jan 7th.

DH and I moved our new upright fridge/freezer (it'll almost always be a freezer, I have too much fruit...) anyway, we moved it from the living room out to the garage. Lol it's been sitting in the living room for a few weeks. Long story.... I also have a "new" refrigerator, that was supposed to replace my one that keeps freezing over, in the dining area.... the delivery people scratched the CRAP out of it as they rushed it through my front door.... -_- So, I get a replacement for it on January 2nd. and they take the damaged one away. Using it for things we want to keep under 40 degrees while we wait.... it's been a month. lol. so why not.

I am looking for a place to order seed potatoes right now. I need to plant potatoes in the next 4 weeks. So far, it's looking like I'm getting potatoes from fedco seeds. They are shipping at a time that works with my "zone 9" ish, needs.

I did the same thing yesterday! But, my kid is an older teen, knows where I “hide” the gifts before wrapping -which is in my walk-in closet. If I’m laying in bed, teen will sometimes walk in to see what I bought, and not wrapped. I’ll just tell her “not my fault if you have no surprises for Christmas, followed by “get out of my closet”. Teen just giggles, and yesterday (while laying in bed) I hear her in my closet say “awww, you bought me a baby goat calendar”. 🙄🙄🙄. So, what’s a parent to do? Well, I bought a useful storage item (which is kind of a boring gift -at least teen will think so) from Costco and it’s in a large box, and on the heavier side. I wrapped it up nicely a few weeks ago and now teen keeps saying “I really want to know what’s in the big present!” And probably has all kinds of grand ideas of what it is….but it’s not. 😈 🤣
