What did you do in the garden today?

Cucumbers are keeping me supplied. I keep finding ones I miss. I eat 1 a day. I have one tomato plant with blossom end rot. Trying to cure that.
Do you share your cukes with the hens? Mine like the regular ones for an afternoon treat and gobble them all up but they're not so much fans of the small pickling ones. They'll eat the seeds and a little bit of the guts but I suppose the rinds are just too tough? bitter? unappetizing? for the Prima Donnas.

What are you doing for your tomatoes?

Today I’m taking at stab at apple jelly and tracking down recipes for salsa and salsa verde. I’ve also realized today that my best buddy hen is infinitely jealous of me.
Here's my recipe for salsa verde. Very mild, but I'm a wimp.

4 qts green tomato puree
90 grams garlic, minced*
1/2 cup chopped onion
2-3 green peppers, chopped
3-4 jalapenos, seeded (leave the seeds in if you like the heat)
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/3 cup lime juice

Bring everything to a boil, boil 5 minutes. Ladle into canning jars. Water bath process for 20 minutes, both half pints and pints.

* This is about 7-8 large cloves of garlic. This is my homegrown garlic; Music variety makes large cloves!
