This is my biggest pepper plant this year. My goal for next year is to get something twice as tall. It’s a bell pepper that I planted kinda late so it is just starting to produce. It is 3.5 feet tall and 3 feet wide View attachment 4214985
This plant is 4 feet tall but is basically just one big stem with minimal branching

I picked two pounds of Jalapeno peppers this morning along with a couple New Mexico chiles and a habanero. Combined with tomatoes and onions I made seven pints of salsa.

I played it safe adding just one habanero pepper to the batch but it wasn't nearly enough, though there's a little heat in it. I should've added 4 or 5. I processed the peppers and onions to a fairly fine chop so the salsa would be spoonable instead of chunky.

I didn't have a lot of ripe tomatoes. Half of them were just partially ripe, so it's a semi-green tomato salsa.

Picked the first ripe grapes yesterday, which is a huge win. In past years, the birds and raccoons got them. All safe, so far, with organza bags and an electric fence, and 2 cats.
I was going to pick our first ever grapes. The :duc birds got Every. Single. One. of the green grapes!

I will be watching the red ones and picking them as SOON as they taste sweet-ish. I'll add some honey to the juice if I need to.

For those of y'all with fruit trees, how do you keep squirrels away? I lost so much tree fruit this year in my young orchard to both 🐦 and 🐿️. I figure I'll get some netting and flashy tape for the birds but won't squirrels climb right up under the net? I was thinking maybe something like a baffle you'd use on a pole with a birdhouse. What's worked out not worked for all y'all?
pellet gun always worked for me.
