What did you do in the garden today?

I had to filet all of my tilapia in one of my fish tanks today. I started after lunch and just finished at 2 am. It was my first time fileting so many fish. I cut off the heads and collar bone and took out the guts, but I left the scales on. It's a good thing I got this heavy-duty poultry and fish scissors. It's the best scissors I every owned.

I will have to process several Red Star roosters after Christmas; they started baby crowing and messing with their sisters.

Yesterday was nice 41 and sunny. Today weak sunshine and 40. I notice kids do not play in the snow anymore. No snowmen, sledding or snowball fights. Times have changed.
How sad! Wish parents would just take those electronic devices away from the kids, their mental and physical development are surely being harmed.

I messed up.

I completely forgot that I moved several potted aloe plants into my gardening shed to avoid the cold. That works great when temps drop around freezing but is not protection enough if the temp drops significantly below freezing.

Well not only did the temp drop to nearly single digits on several days but I also forgot to water them all for nearly a month.

Tonight I remembered they were out there. All of them are limp and wilted. I set them outside since temps are in the mid-50s and it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow.

What are the thoughts on their ability to recover? Should I consider them goners? 😕

I don't know for sure but... last winter I thought my Aloe died in the garage, so I set it outside in the spring and totally forgot about it in the weeds. This fall I noticed the pot and went to pick it up to put it away but the Aloe grew back bigger than ever. So crazy! So there's always some hope I think.
