What did you do in the garden today?

I can relate to playing catch up with school starting today I hadn't went out in the garden in a couple days..picked squash, tomatoes, need to go back out and pick beans, got 7 green peppers for my MIL in exchange for her tomatoes, and some other various peepers I am just freezing whole until i gather enough to make pepper jelly, I have a table full of own tomatoes, thinking of canning Tomatoe soup, and will be making chili just to can for my 4 yr old who is obsessed with eating chili before anyone asks I own a pressure Canner. ..I already have 20+ quarts of canned whole tomatoes, 10 pints of salsa , 8 quarts of spag. sauce. Tomatoe basil jam , plus 25 quarts of beans and 30 quarts of pickles ... and i still have a good 3 more weeks of Tomatoe season LOL.

I let my chicken get in the garden to day they loved it I have canned a lot of tomatoes green beans pickles had very good garden this year give my thanks to God

i picked beans today and watered, and of course canned whole tomatoes.Enchilda sauce here is the link I made the first one there is 3 on that same page, I toasted everything on my charcoal grill after making dinner, http://www.sbcanning.com/2012/04/enchilada-sauce-in-jars.html super easy doesn't even call for peeling the tomatoes. and pressure canned 2 quarts of beans with the sauce....I still have about 50lbs of tomatoes on my table and need to pick more at home and the MIL tommorow... anybody have any good tomatoe recipes? I plan on making hot balls also as now the large ones are tuning i have no need for the cherry tomatoes. Chickens are loving it they get all the cores skins bruised parts they actually make a big fuss whenever i walk out side if i am carrying any kind of container.

Picked 5 gallon bucket full of bell peppers . Cored , blanched and froze them . Picked tomatoes and canned 5 quarts . Lots of rain the past 10 days . Very hot and humid . Lots of split tomatoes . Chickens getting lots of produce scraps .

Picked our first, sevond crop cukes.
Fertilized w/3yr old manure
Glads getting ready to burst
Planted some sale glads in a manure bed.
Going to a local vineyard to talk vine propagation for a special old hybrid muscadine finally doing something.
So I guess tomorrow will be tipsy Tuesday..lol

Here is what I do when canning and blanching . I use the turkey burner . I blanch in the large pot and basket . I process in the water bath canner . Heats water faster and keeps the heat outside . Plus you can duck into the house for some AC .

I thinned my 3 week old carrot seedlings and harvested some potatoes.
