What did you do in the garden today?

Here's a pic of my poor trees and bucket over the grapevine. lol Don't mind the tub and the huge cast iron bowl. This used to be part of the cow pasture. lol
And we can't life them and don't have a tractor to move them. It's hard to see because it's nearly dark. I have plastic over the small nankin cherry and a sheet over
the blooming apple tree and a 5 gal. bucket over the grapevine. Some of the trees are not out of dormancy yet in that area.

I lost some cabbage and broccoli this year. I replanted some today. I am wondering about the weather this year. Is it just me?

I've got a little bit in the ground but mainly still in 4" pots. I've got more peppers and tomatoes than I know what to do with. They are all nearly a foot tall. They've been outdoors since the 10th. I put them out before I went to the hospital because I thought they might admit me and then the neighbors could water them. I think I lost my young fig tree.

I need to get busy and get the beds prepped and planted.

It is spring .

I was at Walmart yesterday and bought 3 apple trees $10 each . I could not pass them up . I so want to set up the small greenhouse . Weather is still unpredictable without heat . I have some tomato plants started indoors . Trying not to repeat last years mistake . I put them out in the unheated greenhouse after seeing the 10 day forecast . So when the short range suddenly predicted a low of 30 I was not concerned too much . Usually can hold enough daytime heat to come through ok . Woke up to low 20's and lost everything . I have a small electric heater now to help on the cold snaps . Still not willing to risk it until the end of the month .

So far so good here. The sheet's and plastic kept my trees and plants from freezing.
Had to go buy a new chain for the chain saw to get the rail road ties out of the briers to get the garden put together.

We got a good start on the new rabbit house it will be next to the garden. I am hoping to make a small run area for them by the garden.
We had to move the fence behind the shed so we could put the rabbit house up and then put together the water garden next to it.

Ya need some water plants? I have pickeral rush, flag lillies, water lillies, and other stuff. I have a Wal Mart swimming pool full of the stuff. I spent my day hauling horse manure and spreading it on my pasture. I am tuckered out.
