What did you do in the garden today?

I have a bunch in my dining room waiting to get the garden going also. lol

You should hopefully be able to get yours in pretty soon won't you? Our last chance frost date is around May 15th. We usually start moving plants out to the greenhouse during the day in April and I carry them back in at night. It gets to be a true labor of love.

Quote: First we have to get the rail road ties out of the briars and move them to the new garden area.
We are going to make a large kiddie pool style garden. We will line the center of the 8x8 rail road ties with some thick plastic liner.
And drill a drain hole at 2 1/2" and put a automatic float in at 2". Then I will fill all my 7 gallon Walmart re-usable grocery bags with my soil mixture of top soil, peat, 10-10-10, lime and crushed calcium and epsom salts. Then I will plant in my bags.
This is a style of gardening that Larry Hall on Youtube and FB created.
I follow his Youtube videos and his FB page. Last year was the first time I had enough tomatoes to can and make salsa and pasta sauce, tomato juice. I am going to plant more tomatoes this year. Lol

My squash did not like sitting in the water so it got powdery mildew so I had to mist it daily with baking soda and water. Thanks to Dan. :)

Hoping to get the garden built soon though. I will share pics when we get it done.

Maybe this year it will warm up sooner for you. It seems to be for most. I understand moving in and out. lol I do it also. It does take a lot of time but it is so worth it.

I planted some broccoli today. I gatheres a pickup load of leaves and run my lawnmower over them and mulched with that. I also planted a few potatoes that sprouted in the kitchen. My entire garden is covered in pine straw and i pull it back and plant. This makes the paths thickly covered in pinestraw.

Wow I sure would like some after we get everything set up. Just let me know how much for maybe an assortment. Thanks
I'll bet you are. I am going to mix rabbit pellets in my soil again this year. My plants loved it last year.
I quit selling plants. I was offering to give you some. They grow like weeds and i have more than enough. I am sure we can work something out. Maybe...when you get everything worked out i could send you some...or trade for something.

Planted some fruit trees . Pulled some invasive honeysuckle bushes with the tractor and then with the truck . Ground is still soft so not too tough to pull .

Sounds great. I like to use leaves also. I hope to try a few potatoes again this year.

Quote: Thank you so much. I will have a few extra kiddie pools this year if all goes as planned. I need to thin out my Daffodil bulbs this year.

Sounds like a major overhaul of a new area. Nice.
