What did you do in the garden today?

Thanks for the biology refresher! Even if you get some crosses, some of those hybrids can be pretty awesome! This year, it's butternut for me. But, I may end up with spaghetti squash also, and that cross would be a looser, IMO.

Well no need to worry . Spaghetti squash is C . Pepo group and butternut is C. Moschata group . So that cross can not work . Yes crosses can be interesting .

I just found some stuff called IvyX, which you put on before you go out. And i spray with cedar oil to repel bugs. And i just started with aveeno eczema therapy moisturizing cream. The itching gets so bad i want to rip my skin off. Just got all heated up hand washing dishes. Filled the hummingbird feeder, we have two pairs that visit a lot. The females do not like each other

On poison ivy here is what I do . Note I am not sensitive to it . That is I seldom breakout . If I mow or weed whack some I wipe down with chlorx wipes . Gets rid of the oil that makes you breakout . Diluted bleach water works also .

Yep take take the bleach bottle into the shower with you. It's what we used to do when fighting fires in the summer. Can't say as I'd do that now for I'm sure it would cause some sort of something.

I wash with soap and water, but don't always catch when i am exposed. I probably should wear long sleeves but it is so hot and humid i would probably get heat exhaustion. I do not know which is worse. I think the itching, because it just does not quit.

I have to wear long sleeves and hats. Due to skin cancer. Without them it's so much hotter. I know it doesn't make sense and with your humidity I probably couldn't do it either. Our house framers here wear dark sweatshirts with hoods all the time they say they can't do without them. Like a mini air conditioner.

This is what works for me. You are responsible for your own decisions to use or not. I'm not advocating it's use, just sharing my experience.

Poison ivy treatment my mom made for me when I was little. I am extremely allergic to poison ivy, and was even hospitalized for it when I got into smoke of it burning once as a young child. Mom got the recipe from our old pediatrician Dr. Geppart in the 1960's. It burned like fire going on, but even as a 5-6 year old I remember begging her to put it on me because it was the only thing that made the itching stop. It leaves a powdery residue as it dries on the skin. you start with a bottle of rubbing alcohol and dissolve a couple of camphor squares and 10 regular aspirin into it. Shake it well before applying to affected skin using a dabbing action and cotton ball. Blow blow blow! It burns!
