Interesting. Not sure where i would get camphor squares. I had camphor trees in my yard in FL.

Yep take take the bleach bottle into the shower with you. It's what we used to do when fighting fires in the summer. Can't say as I'd do that now for I'm sure it would cause some sort of something.

Cold water shower. Hot water opens your pours and spreads the histamines.

I think my pores are already open, with this weather but it is a good tip. Getting hot just makes me itch more. Tomorrow i am getting up at 7:30 , husband has a blood test and i am going to see the doctor for a third time on this.

Weeded, pinched suckers off of my giant volunteer grape tomato bushes, picked a few snow and snap peas, cleaned some seeds I saved from our neglected spring planting of lettuce, arugula, and spinach.

I share the garden with my mother in law. She mulched our new squash and green bean seedlings, and pushed the marigolds back and secured them so they aren't hanging over the pole beans so much. I enjoy sharing the gardening with her. She has a lot of experience, and we get along pretty well.

I watered the garden, and the flowers. Since it is supposed to be so hot i planted my morning glories that i started from seed. The Shepherd grabbed a thick stick and flopped down near me after i dug the holes and put the plants in. I look over and she is chewing the stick and grinding it into the hole my plant was in like a mortar and pestle! So if plant number 4 dies, we know why. I put the last 2 boards on the brooder, and one latch. But i am going to put a hasp on as well in case some critter gets adventurous. My guineas ship tomorrow. Hope the heat does not do them in. Must hit the sack, getting up early. Good night all.

OMG! Last years "grape tomatoes" were out of control. I was pushing them on friends and family like a Flex Seal © commercial! They would branch and divide and massive produce. We had salads 6 days a week!
The piggies think I am neglecting them this season for not planting them.
I remember the surplus burden but now miss the luxury!

I love my dogs but sometimes question that fact. They are my new children now that my human children have evaded our nest. My K9's are my only babies to hang out with until my children need a babysitter! Hehe.
Except the piggies of course!

Let the fruit stay on the vine until the vine starts to really brown and decay. The fruit is draining the plant of nutrients. Plus.. Turning ripe outdoors is sweeter than kitchen countertop aging!
Patients grasshopper, & you will be rewarded 10 fold.
Tomatoes are the nectar of the Gods! Yum.

Mowed the garden paths and watered the beds with the overhead sprinkler....an hour in each circular section nets 1 inch. Gathered cucumbers, peppers, squash and tomatoes. Took some tomato cuttings to root for fall tomatoes.
We have had damage on some cucumbers from rats so placed rat poison in the cottage cheese cartons and set the live rat trap too.
Still working on catching the boar raccoon that keeps raising my chicken pens...he is smart and has learned how to open the nest box lids and kills and carrys off a hen or rooster. So today I changed closures on all the boxes.

What sort of latches did you have? Did i tell you about the time i shot a racoon, skinned it, gutted it and fed it to the livestock dog and the chickens? Everyone but the coon was happy
