What did you do in the garden today?

I really need to get out and bring in the few squash, harvest and dry some herbs, finish gathering seed. Hate to do so until weather forces the rush! Crazy, crazy weather this year.

Birds are laying up a storm. I boxed eggs yesterday. Now have 17 dozen. Have put out a road side sign, and hoping to pick up some local customers. Have a cooler at end of the driveway. I'm on a side street, so my sign at the end of our road will or will not be helpful at directing folks to me. It appears that other flock keepers have plenty of eggs to sell also. Signs up all over the place.

I don't understand your last sentence. Who killed your EE? You sold 9 layers every day???? So sorry you lost your EE gal.

ahhh they ganged up on EE pecked her every time she wanted food or water by the time I figured it out she was near death

Someday i will be swimming in eggs here. I have 22 pullets and assuming half the crazy guineas are female, 7 of them.
Those guineas went into the open back door of the coop last night when i slept through supper and on until after dark. They usually live in the run since it is nice out i don't put them in the coop. I have them running lose hoping they will eat bugs. So this morning i opened the door back up so they could get out. An hour and a half later, they had not figured out how to leave the coop with a door 2 feet by 6 feet. They were used to going out the pop door when they were younger. I threw food outside the door thinking it would lure them out. No. I had to go in the coop and chase them out. Is there another creature alive this mentally challenged?

Our ladies are all molting and not laying much at all, and the "babies" won't start laying for a couple of months yet. We actually had to buy eggs at the store the other day, something we haven't had to do in quite some time. You can send a couple dozen eggs my direction, if you have too many! ;) Lol.

My young chickens always act starved if they run out of food for one minute! I had to put another feeder in because one just was not enough.
