What did you do in the garden today?

Cleaned the poop board and the loft where the chicks roost at night, added some hay because I'm out of pine shavings, and stirred the litter on the floor. Raked the yard a bit and put waste in the compost. Thinking about trying to find hemp litter as I read about it on another thread here.
Not much yardwork because the house needed attention.
Going to see my moms new house today. Chores will still be there tomorrow. Have a great day all :frow

It takes a pick in my entire yard to go below 8-10 inches deep. So tired of it!

we have pretty decent put lot's of little rock

Is yours tree roots or clay? I have both here.

We had to cut some massive tree roots planting three roses in the front

Caliche and clay with deceiving areas of sand. Makes cement darn near.

our soil is not to awful but have two compost and lots of chicken poo to use this coming year

Well i was going to dig sweet potatoes today but felt too puny. Going in to see the doctor tomorrow about blood in my ear again today. Then shopping just because i will be in town. Hope everyone had a good day.
Hope you get well soon, Cap. :hugs Maybe you need to take some time off and just let your body heal.

If you're going shopping, I'll be surprised if you don't come home with more plants!

Thanks! I took today off, strolled around looking for good deals, not finding much. You are right, i bought 2 plants, a clematis and a privet hedge plant.
Restore was closed , as was Salvation Army. Thrift stores around here have poor selection.
It is supposed to rain tomorrow, but if not i will be digging sweet potatoes.

Bought "decorative squash/gourds/pumpkins at Lowes for 50 cents/each. They look like a member of the buttercup family. If they are not tasty, the chickens will get them.

Grand dtr and I planted the last row of garlic today. 5 rows = 75 cloves. Need to get the bed covered with chicken compost, and wood chips before Fri snow

Stacked wood, still have 1.5 cords to split and stack.
