What did you do in the garden today?

I have not done canning for many years, but when I did, just like my mom, we reused jars, lids, many times. Used regular store jars, and not just Ball Mason Jars. Never used a pressure cooker, to can. Used a boiling water in a stock pot method. Only time not reused lids, was when there was a sign of rust, or obvious rubber seal damage. Jars all held up well. :thumbsup

I was able to pickup just rubber rings also

Harvested another 35lbs or so of tomatoes. Doing diced toms for canning this afternoon and more dilly beans except I have no more 'dilly' so I have to go down into town and get some.
Smoke here is now considered "Dangerous" and I am feeling it. Harsh on the throat and the eyes. Unless you are using a fully sealed face mask, there is not much to do about it! Cant NOT breathe.

This morning I cleaned the nest boxes and put in fresh hay, raked the coop so the litter was fairly level, moved the habitrail so the previous area gets a break, swept the patio, raked the yard and took out a bunch of junk for bulk trash pickup. Watered the succulents out front and the oleanders still in pots. I'm going out later this afternoon to water the grass once it's in the shade and rinse the small patio after the dog has his bath.
