What did you do in the garden today?

Is it the flexible, plastic or is it wood?

It's the white plastic kind. My folks gave it to me when they moved.

I don't have chickens! And my ducks think anything that isn't bugs or duck crumbles is Actually Poison (tm) I think they listen to the goats.

:lau silly ducks! Never listen to goats. Sorry, I guess the tool will come in handy.

I like the plastic because it bends. I’m interested in see

Whew! Peppers planted! Tomatoes planted! Now all beds are chock full of seeds or plants - hopefully will see lots of growth soon!

Was able to give one neighbor some extra starts of strawberries and tomatoes. She only has 2 raised beds (on legs), so these should work ok...although always hard to tell with cherry tomatoes because they can get so unruly.

I gave some extra pepper starts to another neighbor - his wife and mom-in-law that lives with them, love Italian peppers, so I told him to let those two women know that there are now 3 Italians that will be working hard for them this summer: Jimmy Nardello, Carlo Putini, and P Marconi - all names of the pepper starts I gave him.

Now I need to buy some extra tomato cages, and maybe start some more seeds if we actually build some more raised beds.

and finally, one muskmelon seed was just starting to pop out of the dirt in the raised bed!

More severe weather coming through from Friday until Tuesday, so I'm holding off putting things in the ground until Wednesday. The berries are in, but I can toss 5 gallon buckets over them if need be.

I spent the morning working on the irrigation system. But now it's pushing 85 and the tubing is too warm and soft to puncture. I'll try again this evening, or in the morning if I have to.

I am short 5 plugs for the system, so I'll have to grab those tomorrow.

I need to turn the compost too. My bins are 5 foot by 5 foot. I'll just use the tractor.

My yard doesn't have lovely grass like yours where they'll go but I'll upload pics for sure.

How did you fasten the ends together? Wire?

The carving pumpkins were transplanted today. The mystery melons need to go in the ground, as do the cucumbers. I started a second round of zucchini, hopefully it'll be worth it. What do you all plant for eating pumpkins? I've never eaten or grown eating pumpkins, so I'm at a loss.
I personally don’t grow pumpkin due to space limitations. My favorite way to eat pumpkin is to eat pumpkin is halved, cored, baked with butter & S&P. The “Small Sugar” pumpkins are my favorite.

Early sweet sugar is a good pie making variety that burpee sells. Cinnamon girl is a good pie variety that Johnny's sells. I've grown some of these the past couple years for pumpkin rolls and they turn out pretty good.
Yes...wonderful lil pupkin
