I've never tried the tattler lids. Have read reports that sometimes they don't seal properly and I've even heard about a few cases where even though the jars did seal, when opened, the food inside was moldy! Of course I know that traditional lids also occasionally don't seal properly either, but somehow I feel more secure using them. Just old-fashioned, I guess.Im looking forward to the great sales on canning supplies! This is when I stock up for next year. I have tons of jars. What I'm after are lids. I should grab some more standard rings as well.
Anyonee else use tattler lids as well as ball lids?
I like your idea about watching for sales on canning supplies - I'm going to keep my eyes open. Could use some more jars, etc. This may sound crazy, but in all the years I've been canning, I've never had a jar lifter. Would like to get one of those for sure!
