What did you do in the garden today?

OK. So no gardening.

I went to dig my hole and set concrete for my new flagpole and I can't find my transplanting spade. No where. I spent an HOUR looking for it. DH looked for it when he got home. It's just GONE! WTH?! Where on earth has it walked off to?

Sigh. THen I lost all motivation to do it. I'll work on it tomorrow with the shovel and post hole digger and auger, but dang it.... ya know?!

We had that happen with a pitchfork, a roll of garden hose and about 20 gallons of gas out of our generator disappearing when we weren't at home once upon a time....oh, and two rows of vidallia onions out of my garden. Since none of those things have ever been documented as growing legs and walking away, we can only guess they had some help along the way.

Well in Texas we shoot people for that. I don't know what your state laws are like. Anyone hopping my fence for any reason should be concerned for their safety.

Picked up my butternuts yesterday . 25 gallon half barrel full . Now to remove husks and let dry .

I wish I lived in TX! We have the castle doctrine in CT, but you have to try & retreat before using deadly force. Which is crap if I find you in my home. Never mind trying to shoot someone outside for stealing. That would never fly here unfortunately.

Off to the dentist, have a great day all!

Good morning all. I actually made it out to the garden yesterday. Most of the clean up is done. I still need to rake and make it "pretty." I picked the three largest leeks. We may get a hard freeze by the end of next week so I will wait until then to pick the remainder. The plan for the day is to get gas for the mower (and snow blower), then dig holes for the heath that should be delivered today. I would like a quick freeze so I can dig up the dahlias and plant the daffodil bulbs. I had to google the butternuts @jerryse. When I saw them I thought they were some strange looking squash, LOL! So do you eat them? I'm allergic to walnuts so I suspect these would cause a reaction as well. Have a great day everyone.

That is more than insane, in your state people can steal food from you?
