I put dried leaves in the chicken run last Fall and my chickens were totally freaked out by them. So weird.Still in my comfy PJ's and staring at my old work suspenders and kinda dreading going out and getting dirty today. Looks like it will get into the mid 80's with little breeze. Lots to do... going to load a few logs and deliver to a friend for her mushroom adventure, drop some plants at another friends b4 they outgrow pots, clean coops, dismantle XL cage and clean out old brooder and store, rearrange chicken run furniture, cage brooder, look for roofing tin...
DH wants to mow the lawn so that means I need to weedwhack...well as @WthrLady says... that's the plan anyways...
. I'll probably trow my back out with the logs and hafta call it quits... watch boat building (or horse training or logging) on YouTube with DH... lol
One a side note- my chickens seem to be scared or overwhelmed or... underwhelmed by the gift of dried leaves last eve. No scratching activity at all. Crazy/weird.
K. Have a fantastic day all!!! Stay well![]()
I was so happy those chicks got a taker and a nice family with a coop to boot. The chicks were not that social@TropicalBabies that was SO nice of you to give away those pullets! I haven't looked, but I've heard it's very hard to get chicks. I might be giving one away myself soon, the little meanie.& I look forward to your pics, I've never been there so everything is so different & beautiful.
LOL! I feel better now. I have put leaves in for years, maybe was the BO's who were the leaders in fun and rest followed, so now w/o BO's it is scary??? ChickensI put dried leaves in the chicken run last Fall and my chickens were totally freaked out by them. So weird.
That looks so awesome! Please remind me, that's a brooder/isolation cage? The wood is so beautiful, are you going to stain it or seal it? And Sueby is right, your pictures are so interesting and beautiful.Sore and tired and still not done. Just a roof and 1/2 welded wire now. I think it is cute as can be and it should work great. I'm going to buy me some more of those cute white knobs one day for my coops. Nice touch.
I really want to get some small batches of meat birds and I can probably get away with it since it isn't considered a chicken here until it's 12 weeks old.I'll be picking up meat chicks tomorrow, so I should source some meat chick feed today! They are such hungry little chicks. I'll post pics of the chicks once we get them home.
Thanks so much, the deck is just an over sized pallet with added boards. And I'm going to try to raise the plants that don't have a long or warm enough season here. I want to pickle my own okra dang it!I love the greenhouse & deck! Would love to see more pics of it...
I know you said your crab apples had already bloomed and I thought regular apples bloomed at the same time. Doesn't sound good.I'm getting a bit concerned about my apple trees since they have not blossomed yet, or maybe I just missed it.
It is a brooder- the fancy legit one that was actually planned and not thrown together in 30 minutes lol. I hope to incubate chicks and sell pullets. That looks so awesome! Please remind me, that's a brooder/isolation cage? The wood is so beautiful, are you going to stain it or seal it? And Sueby is right, your pictures are so interesting and beautiful.
