I miss our Plumeria. It suffered a slow death due to winter. Such a lovely smell. Wish I lived in Hawaii like @TropicalBabies

You would be a fun neighbor and my dog would not hurt or kill your chickens!!! Come on over friend, the water is warm! (after quarantine of course...)

Had to share- a gnat munching cutie in the horses bag of starfruit. (sorry, don't know where he found that plastic bag at. Will reuse and dispose of proper, sorry if offended anyone )

All of our day geckos have replacement tails... happy chickens lol

Happy aloha Saturday all! No gardening for me. We had a good downpour last afternoon and that lets me off the hook with watering. DH and I plan to go up Koke'e and weedeat and clean, walk and picnic and generally just enjoy. Hope you all are able to find a happy place for yourselves this weekend.

I wouldn't trust my dog for an instant. He is I think my political opposite. Just a real jerk of an animal. Vegan dinner tonight. Fake bacon double cheeseburgers with brie and camanbert. Yum. I know the cheese ruins the vegan part, but it is incredible.

While picking Cayenne peppers I noticed 2 of them were really fat, one was partially rotted one was nice and ripe... when I went too pick them I noticed they were on the Jalapeño plant. I finally got red Jalapeños! the half rotted one I salvaged the seeds from the non rotted half, the other is pictured below between my fattest Cayenne Peppers. I am going to ferment the one Jalapeño in the picture. I may start picking some green jalapeños now. I wanted some to turn red just before I started harvesting green jalapeños. Some I will let turn red although I am told they lose flavor and heat in the process of turning red. I just like the idea of red fermented whole jalapeños.

Part of my garden haul today!

Paste tomatoes from today. There were more but some went straight into the freezer.

Bucket of cherry tomatoes. There are over 60 of them in this bucket! And there is another cucumber buried at the bottom.

Saw both of these spiders on one of the chicken coops last night when I went out to lock up. Anybody know what kind they are? I left them alone to do their spider thing. I’m wondering if they are wolf spiders but I remember wolf spiders being hairier.
I plan to catch up on this thread tomorrow after work!!

It is a look don't touch spider? Honestly looks like a common wolf to me. I don't see the markings of a Brown Reclues there. Nothing toxic. I am guilty of cuddling tarantulas the cuddliest spiders ever. So reflecting back on my life and grievances against my parents I am still upset 40 years later my dad would not let me keep the Timber Rattlesnake I caught. Back on the issue of unwanted pets my wife says we have scorpions in the mail box again.
