What did you do in the garden today?

@karenerwin any update on the dog or the hen?
Just got home from the vet. She said it’s just a big goose egg and should go away eventually on its own. ❤️
She probably got it from wrestling with the other dogs.
The hen that the other puppy grabbed seems fine. I think I got there before she was able to do any real harm. I was literally 5 steps away from the cooptrying to grab a different hen off the top of an unused small coop.
Let me know when you get around to making this dog treats and if your pups like them as much as mine do!

My ladies are picking up the pace, they had been only laying an average of 3 a day but the other day I had 6 in one day! The sfh are laying about every other day now. I swear they heard me talking about freezer camp for non-layers.
OMG, how do those babies know how to pose for the cute?!?!?
That is awesome! Where did he get them all? I am so jealous!
I hope not either and I hope the hen the pup caught is okay.

I’m not sure where he got them other than he ordered them online. He said he went back later to order more and all they had left were wide mouth lids!
The hen seems to be fine! I can’t tell which one she got a hold of. Fortunately I was just a few steps away from the coop and was able to get in there quickly!
My back definitely hurts more today than it did the last 2 or 3 days but no where near as bad as the first 2 or 3 days. I already have an appointment for tomorrow with the chiropractor so hopefully she can put me back how I’m supposed to be!

I’m so happy for the good news all around! I’m going to make the treats on Thursday for the pups so will let you know!

Good morning and Merry Christmas Eve Eve! Finally getting caught up on indoor chores. I cleaned the chicken coop yesterday but I need to spend some time addressing some leaky spots in the run roof. We may be getting 2 inches of rain on Christmas Day, good golly what a mess with all the melting snow. I'll be shoveling some of the snow away from the house where I just had the window well rebuilt. The "cocktail" party was fun. Everything had to be gluten free of course and I was quite proud of myself when I adapted and tweaked the crescent roll recipe to make mini pigs in a blanket. With the some of the excess dough I made breadsticks. They were perfect for wrapping a slice of prosciutto around them. And honestly between the pigs in a blanket and the breadsticks, you couldn't tell that they were GF. I got my first seed catalog the other day. I haven't done an inventory of my seeds yet, however I know I will likely be ordering lima bean seeds and blight resistant tomatoes. I did a preliminary search for beneficial garden bugs and found a wide array available on Amazon of course. I also need to order some potato bags. I'm thinking about the garden plan for this Spring, but haven't put anything on my spreadsheet yet. Plenty of time for that, but now I need to mix the GF sugar cookie dough together. Have a great day everyone.

!!! 15” snow (which is still a lot of “liquid”...not 15”, of course) plus rain!! Sum pump will get a workout!

So, new “thing” to me: tomato rootstock to graft your toms onto disease resistant root stock! When I shopped Territorial seeds the other day, they sold 2 kinds- each with a long list of things they resisted...found it interesting.

Glad your GF items turned out well for the appetizer party!

Although I've had to have some work done to the house I still feel like I got a good deal. The sump pump has worked well these past nearly three years. There's an extra pump down there and even better, my neighbor across the street works for a pump repair business. BTW: kitchen paint job is pretty much done. Although the color is blue and not gray, it is so much better than the ugly wallpaper. I'm starting to look for items to finish it off. I still need to order new cabinet doors, and paint them, get a new countertop and sink and a range hood that actually works. DD thinks we should do the finger food dinner once a month. We did have crudites with it to make it a more rounded meal. I'll check out the territorial seed website. Thank you.
