What did you do in the garden today?

2x a pill shooter makes it so much easier. We had a dog with chronic issues and this was the only way to get one down her throat.

Have you told your doctor? They may need to check for blood clots or something similar.
Edit: Bursitis and Tendonitis can also be caused by improperly administered vaccines.
Yes. Apparently it's a side effect and might be permanent. It's not a clot. SIRVA, we're still trying to figure it out. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Last night it actually felt like someone was actively GIVING me a shot, needle pinch, while I was sitting here watching tv....on and off for over an hour. Oh well.
If they would quit using needles that were 40 feet fricken LONG. :lau

Woke up to .03 in the rain gauge. Not sure if it was enough to wash the fertilizer into the grass. If not, I'll have to turn on the irrigation to wash it in and let these birds out.

The zero visibility fog is starting to lift and we're up to 3 miles. I plan on eating my oatmeal and getting to work. The list of chores this time of year is bonkers.

Top of the deck is top priority.
Have a great day all!

I'd love to see a picture.... All the alpines I ordered were white & yellow varieties instead of red. I have a lot of June & everbearing red strawberries so I wanted something different that the birds wouldn't pick over... I still need to get some netting up over my tower. Might do that today

Not a great picture, but still shows the strawberries, geraniums together.

So lovely @Acre4Me, it makes me miss not having geraniums since I moved in here. Sunny morning here. Temps are sliding back to near normal for this time of year. My additional grow bags should be here on Monday. I need to buy dirt to fill the bags so I can be ready to plant potatoes soon. My seedlings are looking good now. No secondary leaves yet but all looking healthy. Yesterday I planted marigolds, zinnias, poppies, all peppers, bell, poblanos, jalapenos, okra and dill. I'm going to put the dill into pots this year since they don't do well with other plants. One of the tulips I planted last Autumn is breaking through the dirt. I'm certain I accidentally planted them too deep. That is, I was desperate about getting all the dirt pile out of my driveway that I dumped some into that garden bed. Oops! I'm seeing signs of life on the BES I planted there. The random crocuses (they came with the house) are blooming in my yard and the Lilies of the Valley are breaking through the dirt also. My forsythia is about to burst into bloom, however we are forecasted to get some hard over night freezes this week. I haven't driven my new car @Sueby since I got home the other day. I've been taking care of DD while she was recovering from the Covid-19 shot. She's fine now and ready to go out and have some fun. I may not do any driving until Monday or Tuesday. Apparently all the seeds may have been shipped to New England @Acre4Me. The local Walmart has loads of Ferry-Morse, Burpee and some random brands of seeds. So weird.

Good morning gardeners. It’s a gorgeous day here! The sun is out and it’s already warm enough for shorts and a tank top if you’re busy. And flip flops. We took the pups to the park early and then I came home to transplant the lilac and get some watering done. The lavender and lemon tree are blooming but a few things were suffering from lack of water. Oh and the sage is recovering after transplant. The shade cloth over the shaded garden blocks the sun but unless we get some serious rain it also blocks that. I have some weeding to do tomorrow and my strawberries all died off. Oh well, I’ve never ever had luck with them. The carrot flower is bigger and one of the thyme plants has flowers on it. I still have to stir the litter in the duck house and Aiden said there were ants in the water bucket so fresh baits are in order. Here’s a few pics from today, have a great weekend all!

@Sueby i got the Johnson and Johnson Covid vaccine yesterday. Today at work (12 hours) I was tired and felt like my brain was a bit slow, otherwise no problems.
I had to drive almost 2.5 hours each way ( to Poplar Bluff) to get my shot ( and my hubby’s). But hey, it’s 1 and done! Plus I got a $100 gift card from my work because I got vaccinated.
Nice! I'm pretty tired today, but I didn't sleep well & I have a headache but allergies are kicking in & I got new glasses so I don't know if it's because of the shot or not, I always have a headache anyway. My sister feels fine.

I'm still suffering issues from my second shingles shot at the end of October. My deltoid muscle in the arm I got my shots in, just doesn't work right. I'm not at all happy about that.
I hear the shingles shots can be brutal. I had shingles in my 40s so I think i'm good to go. But I should probably ask. My grandmother never really recovered from shingles, nor has my boss.

Afternoon all. My dirt was delivered today, looks nice. @Wee Farmer Sarah I'm pretty sure I planted my mini daffodils too deep too. They come up late & don't get many flowers. I keep forgetting to pull the dahlia bulbs out of winter storage. They're probably all shot - I forgot to ever check on them and spritz them.

I'm being lazy today, sitting on the couch watching UConn in the sweet 16. I do have to go collect eggs at some point.

Still no sign of life with the habanero seeds. It's killing me, I'm going to have to buy starts!

I did clean out the littles coop this am. I took the nesting box out of it too & hung it on the fence under cover. They were tracking in the box with poopy feet & I hate poopy eggs! The brats need to go back to laying in the big coop with the big boxes! :smack

Have a good day all.

Nope you're not. You can get shingles again and again and again. I had them twice before my vaccine. First time was worse, second not as bad. Shingles shot 1 wasn't horrible, Shingles shot 2 was argh.

Can’t agree more my mom had them twice. She has permanent nerve damage. The old vaccine also had a low protection rate. My dad still got shingles after getting the old vaccine. The new one is supposed to be a lot better.

I went to my heavy soil garden to start weeding today. I dug up a bucket for the chickens and another cartful of grass that sneaks in from the sides. It used to be field and is surrounded by field, so, to be expected. It's a constant battle.

Good news: I saw gobs of worms. Good news: I found zero grubs. Bad news: Sorry, chickens, I found zero grubs. :lau

Ya. Mine were happy with the worms, but when I found a grub, man that's like a Cadbury Egg to a chicken! :drool
