What did you do in the garden today?

Today I was in my (future) garden! Planning where everything is going to go once our house is built. :) We're going to be moving onto 6 acres and I'm turning a good acre or two of that into my own garden forest!!:wee

I'm so happy and excited to grow things!
Nothing like going out and dreaming your future into reality. Love to do that

Good morning gardeners. Still wet here as it rained overnight again. Weeded the chard, carrot and kale bed this morning. Also pruned the tomatoes. Looking to at least mow the front yard after lunch and coffee. Hopefully the dry weather holds so the I can get more mowing and weed whacking taken care of. The littles are loving the grow out pen. After the tiny brooder 40 square feet of run plus a small coop must be like heaven to them.

Getting a handfull of okra, a couple large tomatoes, and cukes everyday the last several days. Had 3 acorn squash ripening but the vines died seemingly overnight for no reason that i can tell. I don't see any sign of disease or other pests. Thoughts?

I have noticed something is eating the leaves clean off my sweet potato vines. I have never had this happen before. The box was nearly covered with leaves as of 2 days ago...just started happening either Saturday or Sunday.

I don't have any idea, but it is nice to hear from you again! It has been a while.

Thanks, it has been a while. We lost our chicks last fall to a racoon massacre and between moving our garden beds to better locations this spring and building a new run (much more secure). It has been a very busy year.

Moving the beds has been a great decision, everything is growing much better than in the past. We have a family of bunnies in the front yard and I am thinking the babies may be the culprit of the sweet potato loss. We don't see many squirrels and chipmunks in this portion of our yard because the pups roam this area but i did see a wondering baby bunny back there yesterday (not sure they have learned how dangerous it is back there yet). They seem like they are still small enough to fit in the wire fencing.

Quick update on the blended garlic oil I made & froze...waaay too hard to scoop out of the jar! Tastes good though. I might consider refrigerating it, scooping it in tablespoon fulls onto parchment & then freezing those.
or put them in a silicone or plastic icecube tray, freeze, pop out and toss cubes into a baggie in the freezer.
