And I'm out of pint jars again

Our local grocery was totally OUT of any canning lids when I looked last weekend. Some of the cases of jars had the ring, but no lid. When you buy a case of jars, they always come with lids and rings! Wow.

Very glad I bought so many lids last year.

I was able to buy pints and quarts but only one of each. No lids in sight though

I am very happy with my lids from Fillmore container. I got wide mouth, but I'm sure they have regular mouth lids too. So far, every single jar has sealed. The price was very good too.

I bought 4 cases of ball pint jars last year and the majority of the lids on the jars were bent. DH unbent them for me with some plyers but I'm wondering if their quality control went array during the height of the pandemic and extreme demand. Really annoying since I cant find lids that a brand new case of 12 jars has 11 defective lids.

Sounds like our Italian Honey Fig. We had it when we were still in Portland, it was excellent.

Looked it up.. if the photos I'm finding are correct, Italian is lighter pink inside. I didn't take a photo but mine is very dark like https://onegreenworld.com/product/strawberry-verte-fig-tree/ . SV seems to have a touch of red coloring on the skin like mine too, so perhaps that's it.

Definitely has a berry flavor. Not just honey like my other green fig. It could have used another day on the tree but I was impatient!

I never shop at walmart and try to shop locally as much as I can. The walmart we have is always packed and very dangerous to park at. I prefer our meijer because it is close to home but I have been struck in that lot. I swear the woman was on something because she acted like she had no clue that she hit my car. In actuality based on our convo I perceived she was high as a kite and had no idea where she was or what she did.

Okay, so every Tuesday at 6pm the local volunteer fire dept tests their siren 3 times. They're only 2 blocks from us so it's mighty loud. Many dogs in the neighborhood howl every time the siren sounds and we were pretty sure Penny would freak as well. She had a difficult day today as we had a dog trainer come by to see Penny and evaluate us and Penny. She was the first stranger Penny has seen on the porch and in the house since we got her. The gal was very good and gave us some good tips, still, it was a stressful day for our girl. All that said, at 6pm when the siren went off she looked to us to see if she should react and we were calm and other than checking with us (perfect) she relaxed and didn't bark at all. She is the perfect dog for us and we love her to pieces.
