What did you do in the garden today?

Yall where I stroked straw over the seeds I planted in raised bed something is growing up and fast in addition to what I planted!
I got a couple pics to see what yall think it is...gotta be from the straw right? Seed looks nothing like what was planted in that area which was just onions sets. And it is all up and down the areas strowed with straw.
Oats. Straw is usually from the stems of oats.

My starts have all been in my open garage for several days now. I'm trying to harden them off but it's been in the 40s at night. I felt it was too warm in the house (mid-70s) so the garage was a good compromise. The tomatoes have semi-perked up but I accidentally snapped an entire branch off one of them just now :barnieso clearly brittle....

I just made room in the freezer, I have no idea HOW, but I did, for 2 bags of all flock. I called to see what the price is & he said $21.95 & they added a 25 cent surcharge per bag too. He said he's been doing this for 40 years & has never seen grain price go this high this quickly & it makes him sick to his stomach. Oh well, I guess there is nothing I can do except be happy it's still available (and should always be).

Wheat from the straw . Around here we have wheat straw . Could be oats but the grain has no hull on it . So wheat is my guess .

The cut flower season starts.
