What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning gardeners. Over did it yesterday in the heat and the straw dust, thought I might have to go to the ER. After a breathing treatment, shower and some pedialyte I decided I’d be ok but felt HORRIBLE and it was hard not panic. Hubs told me I’m not even allowed to look outside today and my daughter has been ordered to keep me inside. It won’t be a difficult mission, I have ZERO energy; naps are on my agenda, and maybe a few episodes of the new season of Stranger Things. Enjoy your garden time all!

Feel better!!

So each to overdue it in the heat. Hopefully a day off is all you need to re-bound.

Mornin' all. My order from Stark Bros got here yesterday, but to be honest I'm afraid to plant the bareroot items while we're in the triple digits. I've got the bed for the asparagus about half finished and hope to wrap it up today or tomorrow. The strawberries bed is ready to go, but I want to grab a couple of bags of rich compost to mix in before I properly plant out anything. I suspect that's part of the problem I'm having with the rest of the garden. Not enough nutrients in the "garden soil" we bought it. And of course I can plop the grapevine just about anywhere.

Wednesday evening or Thursday morning is looking like my best bet to get them in the ground.

Went to bad last night with a headache. Let up while I was sleeping. But the minute I got up and moving this morning it came back with a vengeance. Got the critters set, found where the dead rodent smell was coming from im my feed room and am sitting down with a cup of tea waiting for some advil and allegra to kick in.
Supposed to be putting the potatoes in the ground along with the tomatoes and finishing bed prep for seeds tomorrow. I only get 2 days off in a row on these holiday weekends and something ALWAYS goes wong. Come down sick, weather, break something. Or some family emergency. Everytime.

Their soil could be too wet or it could be fungal, or both.
On the pepper plants, I'm leaning towards bacterial leaf spot or some sort of blight. I'm going to push the mulch back to give it a wider ring of cardboard around it and also try to treat it this evening with some copper sulfate and lime (Bordeaux mix) as a fungicide. We'll see what happens. Almost all of my pepper plants are affected.

Still not sure on the cukes though
