What did you do in the garden today?

Picked the zucchini & then pulled all the zucchini plants & burned them. (Dang squash bugs & their eggs) Then I pulled weeds. I know I'm probably way late but I planted pumpkin seeds today as well.
Man I'm so sorry! That's gotta be frustrating
I hadn't even got the raised bed built much less ready to plant my seeds that just came. Guess I'll just plant the small ones.
I'm really tempted to pull out the free cantaloupe or watermelon that decided to grow and take over my compost area. It has climbed the chicken run and going up the inside of their ceiling now! Completely insane. I wanted shade for em...sunflowers not cantaloupe/watermelon! Guess they don't care though lol!

DO IT please!!! This would be awesome!!!

Got dead things out, bulk trash is out, moved the bark mulch into piles because hubs has my wheelbarrow out front trimming trees. Sprayed the fruit trees with some neem before I did anything else. Moved blocks to put around the root zone of the fruit trees so the girls don’t dig there which leaves a ring of bare soil at the base to help the soil dry out a bit. Gave some blue juice to the jessamine in the shade garden, also the pepper plant. It’s super muggy, my tank top was completely soaked with sweat so I came in for some water and a dry shirt. I’m headed back out to take all the mulch out of the shade garden now, then done for today. Oh, and the Arabian lilac outside the wall is doing great! I pulled all the weeds around it and it’s covered in leaves now.

Oh you still have a lot of growing time left. Plant, plant, plant!!!

Ok, we’re all toast. I’m not going to get all the straw out of the shade garden today, it’s just too muggy. I’ve soaked through a second shirt and my shorts at this point. We put a huge dent in our chore list though. Hubs even has a nice sized limb from one of the mesquite trees he’s going to dry for the bbq. We have a huge pile of limbs out for bull trash and we can see the street again. I’ll have to work on the rest of the straw tomorrow after work so it can go out there too. OAN I just realized the kids have ten more days and then they’re back to school. I’m looking forward to the peace and quiet!

You have taken the lid off, right??
Holy cow, this has taken forever. The part that's supposed to be appealing is the no constant stirring but I gotta tell ya I won't do this again, I don't think! I actually have a secret love of stirring onions, my sister does too, so it wouldn't bother me. & yes, I did take the lid off, drained them once & then cooked em on high with the lid off otherwise it would be soup. & still not done. :gig Def not worth it in my world. But ya never know till you try! & I did do 12lbs instead of the 4 they said, lol.

Question for you all. I pulled my garlic to cure a few weeks ago. Today I trimmed it down so the dried leaves are off. I was going to dump them in my compost, but then got to thinking, I won’t have wood chips for my run until we chop our dead branches in September. Would that be a decent debris to put on the floor of the run, or will it get gross? I can take a pic & show you all. I know garlic is touted as a dewormer in some parts, so I thought the aroma might deter some bad pests, but I don’t want it to clump up and mold, or be unsafe for the chickens.
