What did you do in the garden today?

Any recommendations on companion flowers or herbs that might deter pests around the tomatoes and potatoes? I'm already planning on putting some marigolds over there but I can add other options too... In the ground containers (white squares), I'll be planting some herbs like thyme, oregano, and cumin. Hopefully these will help be a deterrent too since they are also next to the tomatoes and potatoes. (the potato beds are not shown in the layout but they are all along the left side just on the other side of the broccoli & tomatoes all the way to the end by the planters.)

Lavenders are a cool plant to have around because it makes a flavorful drink. Bugs in my area don't bother them and they can live up to 15 years. They are also easy to clone.

Its been raining for two days now and I had my 5 gallon Kratky tomato buckets covered with white buckets since then. They seem to like the humidity and look like they grew. I hope the sun come out tomorrow.....................

"50 Dollar February" will be for the whole month of February! I should be fine but with all of the illnesses my family encountered during prime growing and storing periods, we will definitely have a much more limited selection than I planned on. Based on what we grow most of my budget will be spent on grains.
