What did you do in the garden today?

Have you seen “chunnels”?
I'd have one if the run were closer to the garden. Now it's about 500-800(?) ft away, down the driveway, which is a very steep hill. That hill is why I wanted the coop/run up by the house in the winter, so I wouldn't slip and fall.
THank god the garden and chicken run are NOT connected or i'd NOT have a garden....
Thanks. I needed that! :lau
aaron - who's feeling extra curmudgeonly today because the friggin percocets are no longer working :( and the damned doctor is on vacation STILL
Sorry you're not feeling better. :hugs

I have good starts of plants in my spare room.
I seem to be unable to load photos just now.
New computer 11, new phone still Galaxy but ?
I had trouble with my Galaxy too. Turns out, the photos were too high resolution and BYC wouldn't take them that high. As soon as I edited them to lower, it was fine.

I really like these red romaine that I got from my local Lowes nursery. I will seed one of them for latter. The 4 French lettuce next to them was grown from a previous seeded one.
These lettuce are growing in a one gallon fabric bag, and I only run the fish water a quarter inch on the bottom for an hour, every other day. I have another tub full of French lettuce growing the same way. I try to stagger the planting time, so I never run out of lettuce, it can grow year round where I live. However, I need to window screen them in the summer.

last week we had 18 degree temperatures.
tomorrow it will be 80 degrees. gotta love florida in the winter, it can't make its mind up until about april when it just turns hot.

aaron
Last week we had a windchill of -54 and we jumped upto 48 this weekend.
A swing of 102' feels like, and since we run a ranch, we were out in it.
No wonder everyone up here is grumpy, sick, and moody. LOL

We always have closed captioning on, both of us hear just fine too, lol, we just like it for some reason.

A word of warning on chunnels, I lost a bird to a bobcat in one. It pounced on the tunnel, which then collapsed. We caught the bobcat on its way back to try & get the bird out after it had killed it earlier. It was all our fault & was just a temporary set up till the cement set on the run posts, we never thought bobcat, we were really only thinking hawks…

I have a 3rd chicken laying - yay! Starting back up super early, I like it. Good girl.

Aaron that looks painful. Everything is closed around here today too because of how the holiday fell. hope you get fixed up soon.

Anyone know what type of Heirloom tomatoes are in the picture? I always wanted to try a Heirloom tomato, but never could get over the $7.99 price per pound. I just ate a greenish purple one like in the picture, but it was fully ripe and soft. I got 3 delicious tomato sandwiches out of it, and got about 25 seeds from one slice. I bought these to taste and grow. I can't wait for the ones in the picture to get fully ripe.

I feel like the seed germination of these fresh heirloom tomatoes will be better than the old seeds at Lowes. I bought a packet of Heirloom tomato seeds from them a couple of weeks ago and they didn't sprout.
