What did you do in the garden today?

So I mentioned that I discovered my lemon tree is infested with spider mites a few days ago. I majorly doused the tree in insecticidal soap (castile soap and neem oil). I also painstakingly washed down every single leaf and sprayed the mulch around the bottom. I've been watching it closely every since... I haven't seen any more evidence of spider mites but I am seeing these little things. Anyone know what they are? I would guess are approximately 1/8th of an inch (3 mm) in size? I've been individually picking them off as I find them. I don't think the insecticidal soap is doing much against them. NOTE - I don't think the chewed leaves are from these things. They were from the tree being outside before I brought it inside for winter.

That's citrus scale.

I found that a tsp of dawn liquid soap to 32 oz of water got rid of the small green insect with wings, but I am not sure if it will do the same for the cutter that makes a ring around young shoots which is black with wings. I saw one on one of my celebrity tomato plants and shot it with the soap this morning.

Over all that's the only guy I saw today, a few days ago I saw 2 of the green ones and didn't see them after spraying them with the soap solution.

I have been feeding my hydroponic and fabric bag tomato plants a cup and a half of a boiled garlic solution with soluble fertilizer a day and it seems to be working, since my tomato plants aren't infested with harmful insects which usually happens to me in my tropical climate. My hydroponic plants seem to be drinking the cup and a half of solution per day because my reservoir doesn't fill up with my daily dosing.

I usually see white flies and aphids which I have not seen on my tomato plants yet..........

that reminds me, I need another bag of cackle crumbles and chute shavings.

Need to mix in a few buckets of used chute shavings into the mulch bin too. grr. I also need to find someone looking for a job that's not afraid of a little genuine labor... good luck there with this generation.. Maybe ill tell them there's a selfie stick buried in the bottom of the poo pile and they'll dig for that.....

Cloudy and chilly again. Hard to find my want to. Watching the bird feeder. No trash birds so far. I did see starlings cleanup the wild grapes that were still hanging. They also cleaned up the invasive bush honeysuckle berries.
I’m pretty sure it’s ok if you don’t find it. Everyone needs a day to just relax once in a while
