What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning all. Only outdoor work today is shoveling another 1 1/2 inches of "snow flurries." It's supposed to warm up to 37F today so I'm hoping to rake some snow off the chicken run roof. So far the forecast is for another 2 to 4 inches (or more) starting tomorrow night, then rain possibly on Thursday. I'll likely start the tomatoes, peppers and eggplants this week. I'm not sure if I mentioned it before but I reworked/ revised my garden plan and realized I could expand my asparagus bed. I already have the Mary Washington (female) plants so I thought I would get a bag of male crowns to fill in the extra space. That's all for now. Today is a good day to clean inside.

Good morning gardeners. We got some rain last night and it’s definitely wetter in the shade garden than it used to be. Less shade, ie a wider weave of shade cloth, is definitely an improvement! There’s also considerably more light inside which has helped the plants in there. I’m hoping Igor will help me finish the last bit we need to do on the bottom half and we’ll be set. I got my order of food grade buckets, couldn’t order white and black are ridiculously expensive so got multiple colors. Once the new seeds sprout I’ll get them transplanted and outside. I watched a hydroponic video this morning and learned a lot about transpiration and how it works, plus why it’s necessary to use a fan for indoor hydroponics. I watch enough of this guy that I subscribed to his YouTube channel. He doesn’t just show you his successes, but also his failures and it helps a bunch.

So, here is my dumb, no gardening question. How do you comment on your YouTube channel?
I managed to find you on YouTube and watched the video but every time I try to comment it takes me to a place to creat a channel. I don’t want or need a YouTube channel. Do I have to have a channel to comment? 🤷‍♀️🧐
Obviously, watching YouTube watching isn’t something I do. 🤣🤣
It's usually just below the video under the like button.

OIC you are watching it ON HERE. Click on the YOUTUBE logo on the bottom right of the video when it open up on backyardchickens. That will take you to the youtube page, scroll down and comment below the video.

Here's a new one for my books.
I reprocessed my three failed jars of beans.
When I took them out of the canner, all of them had sealed, lowered, no dipples left closed.
I went to bed.
When I got up this morning, all the dimples were down, BUT I ALWAYS ping check them.
Batch 1, ping, ping
Batch 2, thud, thud, thud
WTH???
I took the rings off and very gently pulled on the top, came RIGHT off like there was never a bond at all - BUT THE DIMPLE WAS DOWN!

Had I NOT checked, they would have gone on the shelf and spoiled and oozed, or worse, spoiled and been used (had I been a novice canner).

WTH BALL?!?!

Now I'm going to be ping testing AND lift testing AND sight and smell testing everything in my pantry when I go to use it.

I can’t even. What PITA.

It’s windy here so no putting up shade cloth today. I bought some new trimmers though and finished getting little stuff off the lavender that was junky. I trimmed the rosemary some too. It’s going to need more, but I want to wait and see how it’s going to grow first. It was a huge bush and now looks like a little tree.
