What did you do in the garden today?

Went to my chiropractor this morning, stopped by the local nursery and bought 3 more 4-packs of RED vincas. I ran out, wanted more.

Then I stopped by Ace Hardware to buy two more 5 gallon buckets to use for an additional waterer and feeder, for when the Dominiques are added to the general population.

Woo! I scored another nesting box! :yesss:

And they remembered me, hahaha! :gig

I came really close to starting an asparagus bed this spring. Bought crowns twice, then returned them to Home Depot twice. Couldn't make up my mind until I decided that I just didn't have the time this year to prep a new asparagus bed. I should start working on one now to get it ready for next spring.
I have mine in 5 gallon pots and I think I need to put them in the ground before they die.................its going on its second year. I should have kept the seeds it produced instead of throwing them out.

3 wall clouds and two funnels off my back deck last night, but the largest one didn't drop for another 17 miles north of me. And it was a massive tornado then.

Nothing but watering today.
I contemplated building a chickhouse/grow out/broody cage, but decided while watering, that MAYBE after this season, I'll take down the Harbor freight greenhouse and build something from scratch. ALL the panel in the greenhouse are UV decayed to foggy yellow after only 3 years and ridiculously fragile. Most of the roof panels have tons of holes from hail. One more good hail storm and they're through.

I don't know.....

Trying to do a few things in this humidity. I have a pot of oriental poppies growing like crazy. I up potted a lot of them but never got to these. The up potted ones went into a slump and are starting to grow again. They hate being disturbed. I think I will transplant these as a group. Lilacs are in bloom. I love that smell. Raspberries will bloom soon. Glenco has a few blooms so I may get a few. Watered the seeds I planted as yesterdays rain was not enough.

However, I think the threads will need to be repaired. The plumber is demonstrating how to seal threads that will remain sealed. I want to be able to disconnect the hose in the future.
I know he is doing it on a cut female thread, but I was thinking the Teflon string maybe able to fill up the cut on the male.

I have another idea, I put a silicone water sealant around the gromet on my pond filter and water doesn't leak anymore. Maybe you could put the silicone sealant around the threads before you screw on the hose. The silicone sealant has a rubber texture, so you could take off the hose.
