What did you do in the garden today?

Buy a box of grits. Don't water the garden and make sure it's dry. You can sprinkle them on the garden and on the floor in your house. Grits swell in water and since ants have to get water after eating they die because ants don't fart.

Borax works for ants. Even a tiny amount is toxic to insects. Terro ant killer now is made with borax. Myself when I find a outdoor anthill I just pour granular lawn insect killer on and around the hill.

I just use the grits because I have only had ants in my house once. Not a single ant has been in the house since.

Later today I'm going to do a poblano harvest. They apparently love Vermont weather, we've been getting lots of rain. There's dozens of them on just four plants. In a few weeks the habaneros'll be ready, at which point, I'll be overrun with peppers. When you live up north and there's no spicy food in a hundred mile radius, sometimes you need to grow your own.

I live where I can get spicy food it's usually not spicy enough. You know it's perfect when you feel the burn from your lips all the way down to the exit. Lol

I moved to VT from New Mexico a year or so back. The only remotely spicy food around here is Nepalese, and I can't get takeout every day. The first few habaneros haven't been too spicy, unfortunately. Maybe I'll need to grow some reapers next year.

The last door is completed! A smaller door on south end of the run. It is held in place for at least a month to dry out more fully before being used.

Two doors on the other chicken coop.

Two doors for the goat pen (in case we need to separate them when they have babies).

The large middle door - the widest of them all!

I had to be in town today. Bought some food plot seeds. Turnip seed $4.50 a pound. Some will go for garden.
