What did you do in the garden today?

Good luck, I’d love an update at some point on how it’s going.

I did some research on scoria and it’s just lava rock. I picked some up at Home Depot the other day to mix with coco for the dragon fruit. I’m curious to try that mix with something else though and see how well it works. I may try something in a bucket in Spring.
My neighbor seldom waters his dragon fruit plant in a 5-gallon pot, and it grows many branches and fruits. I cut the branches off when it grew through my fence and I threw them on the ground to compost, but they didn't die, they grew roots. It's kind of invasive and hard to kill.

I just found out about dandelions, crazy. My mom always said it's a weed. I told her about dandelion tea she said yes and you can do all kinds of stuff with them 🤨. I am considering planting some next year and possibly making a bee hive to capture a feral swarm in the Spring. Making my own honey might put a change of mind to me about eating honey.
Dandelion jelly!! I love the dandelions, my boy dog pees everywhere though.

Speaking of, still digging to china in my garden for that chippy. (don't mind the mess, it's the wildflowers but I leave them for the birds through the winter)

I honestly believe the Phoenix area of AZ can kill just about anything.

Read up on bees over the winter. They are fascinating! If you know someone who has bees, he/she will be a GREAT reference.

It's like keeping chickens. You get started, and it seems like there isn't that much to learn/do. And just like with chickens, the more you learn, the more you learn that there is to learn.

Raw honey is SO superior to the "honey bear" honey in the stores!

Gotta laugh at the doggo, I’ll bet that kept him busy for a while.

I like the wild look!

The Dragon fruit plant is like a cactus it will probably thrive where you live.
I can tell you it definitely can’t take full sun here though. I left a pot in the front so it would get full sun and the plants have sun scald. I’m putting them in the shade garden, they’ll get 50% shade in there.

This branch has been sitting here out in the sun for 3 months without any water and still haven't died.

My neighbor is getting tired of pruning his plant and I got poked a few times cutting it back through the fence. My other neighbor in the back built a long 6 feet high metal trellis for his plants and got tired of eating them.

I'll eat it, but I don't crave it like I do mango.
